White Roses

The song of a wedding started playing, it started out low as you could barely hear it. Shane took a deep heavy breath, calming her pounding heart. Under her white veil, tears pricked at the corners of her eyes. She didn't why she was being emotional, she was meant to be happy.
She was happy, she thought. It was just that at this moment, she didn't realized that she would be the one in a white silky dress, a veil thrown over her head. She watched as the flower girl grabbed a handful of white flowers in her tiny hand, spreading it all over the red carpet.
The church was suprisingly hot, and there was quite of a crowd that had gathered in such a small place. Every single faces seemed so important to her and Finnick, especially future husband. She couldn't believe that she was getting married in just a few minutes. She would leave behind the name "Goodhue" and embrace the new name; Loveday.
The people in front of her and her father started moving, finally having a progress. Her arm was looped around her father's who had looked a little teary himself when he saw her daughter. She had smiled, and kissed his dad's cheek reassuringly. As if to say that everything's going to be okay, although Shane knew far from that. This was the only beginning.
Her high heeled feet appeared beneath her dress, showing her new pedicured toenails. Her dress felt slightly heavy, swaying with her as she took every step. She looked up, and caught his gaze under her veil. Red was watching her as she and her father took another step towards the altar. Little Shannon was in Holly's arms, her chubby arms were out as if she wanted Shane to take her. She shifted her eyes away from him, and gave a little wave toward the family.
It hadn't been easy to forget about Red, and Shane couldn't shake the idea of her loving Red afar. But here she was now, ready to be Finnick's bride. Her soon to be husband. She kept walking, and held her head up high as she went past Red's wooden bench. She didn't want another distraction, she no longer wanted to torture herself nor Finnick.
The altar came to her view, revealing the handsome Finnick who stood tall and proud as if he were about to be awarded. A small smile played at Shane's lips, she didn't try to hide it.
Now in front of the priest, and beside her dad and Finnick, she took a deep breath. She had to leave her "Miss Shane" life behind her, and embrace the future with this gorgeous man beside her. Shane's father let her go to exchange a few words and hugs to Finnick before returning to her.
Shane hated tears, she hated herself for crying now. A crystal clear tear rolled down her cheek, thankful for her make-up to be waterproof. "You look beautiful, honey. I'm so proud of you," that was what her dad had said before he took her in his arms and held her tightly.
He eventually let go so that they could get on with the ceremony, Shane took her spot next to the man she will spend her life with forever, smiling at him. Finnick smiled back, catching the tear that once more streamed down her cheeks. She hated this crying, she totally did.
When everything was set, the ceremony started. Everyone stayed quite, a few clicks of camera was flashed. The photography had taken a few more photos before sitting down himself to listen. Now the priest had his attention to us, and we held our stance before him.
The priest had said his words, and now handed it to us. He had already asked the audience if someone do not agree of her and Finnick getting married, but the people behind us stayed quite. She wondered if Red would have the nerve to do it, but she bet he didn't He already had a family and she was about to start her own.
Now it was out turn to say our vows, and the priest started with Finnick. "I, Finnick Loveday, take you Shane Goodhue to be my wife. To have and to hold from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health......" the vows that came out of his mouth coontinued, every words meant so much to Shane that suddenly her throat felt a lump made its way there. She truly loved this man.
Now it was her turn. She said them aloud and repeated each words carefully. Taking a few deep breaths every now and then to get herself through. "...I do" that was the last words Shane had to say before the priest announced them Husband and Wife. The crowd cheered and she was being swept up on her feet, her lips met a wam, soft male lips.
And just as soon as it had came, she was already on her feet. Finnick grabbed her hand, and they happily made their way out. Everyone was clapping and throwing white roses. Shane was happy, and everyone was happy. She couldn't wished for another happy moment like this.
She stopped midway, bending to catch a white petal between her thumb and forefinger. And then she was on her feet once again, and someone had handed her a flower. The only flower she had loved at first, the flower she had loved until now.
And it definitely reminded her of the pure whiteness of the flower. It indicated hope, peace and love. She smiled, and clutched the tornless white rose to her chest.
White Roses.
