A Friend Chapter 5

I was ready to met Bubby today. I had so much to tell him. I felt like I was about to explode when I saw his shadowy figure walking to me. When I finally reached him I gave him the biggest hug ever. I could feel my smile spread from ear to ear.

"Kia how was your day, you seem so happy," Keam said stating the obvious.

"Well if you must know I have a friend!" I screamed loudly.

"Boy or girl?" he retorted.

"Girl Bubby, some girls was picking on me because I wanted to play kick ball. this new girl stood up for me. she told them there is nothing wrong with playing kickball, then she joined. Oh Bubby you should have seen the other girls face," I said finally catching my breath.

"That goo-," he was saying until I interrupted.

"I'm not done, afterwards she sat by me in class and told me why they moved here. She asked could she stay the night and I told her I think my mama has work, so she wants to know can I stay with her friday," I said smiling and looking up to see his face.

"Ummm.. yea but Kia I have to meet her family, I'm happy you finally have a friend. you deserve one," he said rubbing the top of my head.

"Her name Michelle and she is pretty bubby, I can't believe she ruined the chance of being cool, to be friends with me," I said looking down still smiling.

"You're cool too Kia," Keam said embracing me in a big hug.

"Yea, to you!" I said.

I didn't wanna go home I was in a good mood. home Is a sad place for me. I wanted to go to my friend house. OMG I have a friend.

When we got home I immediately ran to the refrigerator. WoW there was sooo much food. I looked up to see my brother staring at me smiling.

"Thank you Bubby,"I said walking over to give him a hug.

"You welcome, go do your homework while I fix you some noodles. I got a surprise for you when you're done," he said winking at me.

"Wait, how did you afford this?" I asked curious to know.

"Well instead of going to school I went to work for this man I know and he took me shopping," he said

"Oh,what's the surprise," I said glad that he didn't do anything bad.

"You'll see just go do your work and hurry up, so I can check it," he said walking to the cabinets.

"Okay," I said turning to do my homework.

I did my homework, and only had 2 wrong. after I corrected it I ate my chicken noodles. I was so happy to find out what the surprise was. SHOPPING. Every girl loves shopping right? well anyway when we got in the mall I went girly. I know I was only here for a coat and some shoes, but I went in every store looking and embracing the smell of all the new clothes.

When we left I was happy with my items. Bubby even brought me a new dress. I brought some brown cowgirl boats and a thick jacket because it was getting too cold. I was really ready for Friday thoo. OMG I HAVE A REAL FRIEND.
