Being the only girl isn't easy

When I was born my parents were told that I was part of a set of twins that were both boys. So you can only imagine their surprise when we were born and I was a girl. I do pity my parents because they are trying to accommodate me and have been since I was born. But they haven't always done very well, I have been treated like a boy. I am one of the best fightrs in our pack, that's because my father insisted that I should be trained like the rest of the lot. Which looking back now I'm truly glad that he did because I have quite literally fought my way through my brothers. The only one that I haven't yet been able to best is Bryan, he is the oldest and next in line to be alpha. I have come close to beating him once a couple of months ago. But sadly he has since found his mate which always make the males stronger. No matter how hard I train I can't beat him.

When we were younger we all got along very well until we all started trying to date. I hated every girl that any of my brothers would try to bring home so I always ended up somehow scaring them out of the house. They in turn scared away every guy who has ever shown any kind of interest in me. I turned 18 two weeks ago, this would normally mean that I would be finding my mate right about now. But with my mother getting ready to go into heat in a couple days we don't know where to start looking. If I wake up in heat then I am to be mated to a beta or an omega. If I wake without heat then my mate will be an alpha and there are so many that my father wants to be sure who we are looking for before we start our search. In the meantime I'm left to do the house chores. My day begins with helping to make breakfast for the pack, which means that I'm up at 4am every day. Then we have to clean up from breakfast, then it's onto the living rooms and then the bathrooms. Thankfully I don't have to clean my siblings rooms. I clean because my father doesn't know what else to do with me. The older that I got the less time he spent with me and the more time my siblings got. After I finished my cleaning I always head out to the training fields. It helps me to clear my head since I can't let my wolve out this close to a time when I could be going into heat. I train with my eldest brother because no one else wants to train with a girl. This is surprising because I have beat everyone but the top two warriors and my brother. After training I go home to shower before I make dinner, this is the only time I have to myself anymore. I'm always being pulled a million directions by the pack since my mother is never available or she is always with pup. I might as well take the position from my mother most days because the pack will come to me before her nowadays. If I don't go into heat I don't know what the pack is going to do. As soon as I get out of the shower I already have pack members asking to do things. Dinner thankfully doesn't take long to make and even less time to clean up tonight. Then I decided that I want to go to the orphanage that we have on our pack land. When I get there I make sure that all of the older children are in bed and I read to them. Then I go to my favorite part of the orphanage.... The nursery where the youngest babies are. It makes me sad to see how many unwanted babies there are but I also love the way that their tiny faces light up when someone they have come to know comes to visit. I spend a couple nights every week here feeding the babies when they wake up in the middle of the night. Nancy the morning caretaker finds me most days when she comes to take over. I had fallen asleep finally holding a newborn named ashley for about 20 minutes when the door burst open to reveal my oldest brother. "Thank god. We couldn't find you anywhere!" I only looked at him..."Did something happen?" "Yeah mom has gone into heat.... Why are you hold a baby?" I looked down at Ashley before answering him. "This is where I come a couple nights a week, I like the babies. I read to the older children before bed and then I stay with the babies to help get them fed throughout the night." I slowing put Ashley back into her crib before walking back to where I was seated to grab my things." Now if you will excuse me I have to go help with breakfast before they burn the kitchen down. " My brother just stood there shocked not saying a word. I walked back to the pack house and there was a collective gasp from the kitchen staff when I walked in. "Hun you look like you have been at the orphanage again." Jenny was giving me a motherly look. "I was, but I'm not in heat and my mother is so I figured that I should still continue with my chores." They nodded and we went back to making food.
