The Alphas Lone Daughter

Finding my mate

     It had been three days since my mother went into heat and finally the day has come when it is over. We had many successful pups this year so we would have many babies in about 5 months. When my parents came out of the house and back to the pack house I was playing with the current round of pups who were about 2 years old. "Did you go into heat?" I shook my head. "This is great, we are going to have a huge ceremony in two days inviting all of the unmated alphas to find out if you are their mate." I think that my father was more excited that he could pass me off to someone else and to not have to deal with me any longer. The next two days were filled with all of the preparations and making the food. The night before I was stressed so I went to the orphanage again. I woke up late but didn't really mind because I didn't have to do anything today. 

Therefore I spent most of the afternoon with all of the children. I linked my father telling him that I was going to be at the orphanage. Around 2 I was outside playing with all of the older children, hide and seek to be exact. I was the seeker. As I walked around the yard pretending to not see all of the little arms and legs sticking out from under everything I could tell that there were people nearing the yard. "Hm.... I wonder where all of the little children have gone... It makes me so sad when they hide from me." All I heard was giggles coming from all directions. I sat on the floor and sighed. The next thing I know I'm being tackled by a mountain of small children. I could now hear my father talking to the men in the background. They could see me covered in the children by now. "Rose can you take care of Ashley for a moment? She hasn't stopped crying since she woke from her nap." I grinned from ear to ear and climbed out from under all the older kids telling them to go run and play without me for a while. When I grabbed Ashley from Beth and she immediately started to giggle.

 "How's my girl? What's all the fuss about. Goodness I spend the night with you and you get spoiled. Your a turd." I heard a round of manly throat laughs coming from behind me. When I turned to see who it came from there was around 40 men watching me. "Hello boys" The bristled at this. " I hope that you are all ready to deal with me, has my father told you anything else about me except that I am to have one of you as my mate?" They all looked at my father shaking their heads. All but a pair of two they looked to be twins, a girl and a boy just like my brother and I. " Well, this is definitely talk for dinner time now isn't is father? If you will excuse me I will meet you all in the dining area once I have put Ashley to bed and grabbed my brother." The twins raised their eyebrows at the word brother. I nodded and walked into the house and laid the children to bed. Then I went to the house to find Andy, his name is Andrew, but because everyone calls me rosy instead of Rosaline they shortened his name to rhyme with mine. 

"Andy you need to come the the dinner tonight, there is a set of twins there a boy and a girl." He grumbled about it but I promised to give him my new set of fighting weapons if he did. After he agreed I dragged him with me out to the dining area. We walked to my father so that he could announce us. "Alright everyone listen up, I present to you my twins Rosaline and Andrew." The crowd gasped and I even saw the twins show some shock about the news. As I worked my way through the crowd meeting the men and touching hands to see if any of them were mate I brought along my brother. I didn't want to be alone in this. I saw the twins ahead of us and I pointed them out to my brother who froze in his spot. "Rosy I think that she is my mate... We have to go over there right now." This made me nervous, because what if the alpha wasn't my mate then I would have to go through the rest of the men alone. I was shaking by the time that my brother had dragged me all the way over to them. 

"Hello I'm Andy and this is Rosy would you mind if we touch your hands?" This shocked me because normally I was the one who was always so upfront about everything. They nodded and he reached right over and grabbed her hand and then their eyes met. I held my breath as the brother reached over to take my hand.... I swear my heart stopped when we touched. I let out a loud shaky breath and looked into his eyes, that's when the full force of the shock waves hit me. "My name is Abigail but you can call me Abby and this is William." I still hadn't looked away from his eyes. This was all becoming a lot for me. In a matter of seconds he looked away and I felt like my heart was shattered into a million pieces. I turned and walked away from the dining area food the last thing on my mind. I didn't know where my body was taking me until I got to the lake that was on the outer edge of our pack land.

 As I looked out onto the water I let the reality of it all sink in, my mate couldn't even look me in the eye for more than 10 seconds. I broke down for the first time in years, the difference between now and every other time that it had happened is that Andrew wasn't here for me this time. I could sense from the pack connection that he was still talking with his mate and mine. I sent hurt as a message to him and him only. The thing that I wasn't expecting when I did was how hard it was going to hit him, I had never tried to link someone when I was this upset and I'm guessing it was a good thing. My brother fell to the floor clutching his chest. "Jesus Rosy." That was all I got back it took him a couple minutes to recover and then he punched my mate in the face yelling about what he was making me feel and in turn made him feel. 

      I would love feedback on this story, I was trying to write a different one and maybe I will continue on that one later but this idea popped into my head today.
