A/N: This year's Guren's birthday happened to land on Sunday, the day I update on, so of course I had to use this opportunity. Plus, Guren is my fav, so... :3 [Happy birthday bae (╥﹏╥)]. It's also funny bc ONS is happening in the future, and then if you look at the wikia, it says that Guren squad was born in 1996, meaning that they actually aren't that much older.. '0'

Summary:

Shinya throws a surprise birthday party for Guren.

Guren pulled his phone out of the pocket and checked the time – 17.05. He was 5 minutes late. Well, can't help it now, Guren thought, this is what you get for ordering me to come to your place in the last possible second, Shinya. He put away his phone and pressed on the doorbell, expecting a fast response.

No one came to open the door. Guren frowned and tried again. Still nothing.

"What the hell," Guren muttered, knocked on the door loudly and tried the doorknob at the same time.

It caught him off guard when the door opened slightly. Unlocked? Guren pushed the door wide open and walked inside. Shinya was nowhere to be seen. He closed the door and locked it, then pulled the shoes off of his feet and went to the living room.

"I'm sorry for being late, you don't have to ignore–"

He was cut off by people jumping out of their hiding places and screaming, "Happy birthday!"

Guren couldn't even process what was happening. Someone threw balloons at him and then there was Shinya, leaning onto his shoulder with one hand and patting his back with the other, wishing him happy birthday with a huge grin on his face and saying something about how now even the numbers say that he's older, but he should just wait for another three months and they will be the same age again. Norito was standing on the other side, ruffling his hair and wiping the imaginary tears from his eyes, saying, "They grow up so fast."

Sayuri and Shigure were hugging him, wishing him happy birthday and all of the other good wishes about life they could think of. Mito was standing some distance away, holding a big chocolate cake with two candles in the shape of numbers.

"Careful, I don't want to set Shinya's apartment on fire," she said when Sayuri and Shigure moved away from Guren, giving him the space to blow out the candles.

"Yeah, let's wait with setting things on fire until the party is in full swing," Norito added and laughed, glancing at Shinya, who just glared at him.

"C'mon now, make a wish." Mito was now holding the cake right in front of Guren. Everybody went silent, their eyes on Guren.

"Umm, well, wow ... This was really unexpected," Guren stuttered, thinking about what he should wish for. Job promotion? No, he's doing really good anyway ... New car? This one works just fine ... More money? He'll get the promotion in no time ... World peace? Like that's possible ... A girlfriend for Norito? He should wish for that himself ...

What about ... being something ... more than just friends ... with Shinya.

"Can you just blow out the candles, I wanna eat the cake already," Norito's voice pulled him out of his thoughts.

He quickly blew out the candles, wishing for a bit of everything (although hoping for only one wish to come true), and then everyone clapped and cheered, and Norito pulled the plate with the cake out of Mito's hands and rushed with it to the table. Sayuri rushed after him, helping him with slicing the cake into equally big slices and giving them to everybody.
