Bang...Bang....Bang....Bang
Hazel slowly crept around the empty hallway of the mansion. What was that noise?
Bang...Bang...Bang
Which room was it? She had left Taegen in one of these rooms as she explored the house for any exit. Sadly, she hadn't found any other keys. She slowly came up to a room which she was pretty sure Taeg was in, turning the door knob.
Blood. That was the first thing she saw. Then, she realized the pounding was louder. Actually the pounding went exactly to the motion the taller, muscular oni was making as it...pounded Taegen into the ground. Blood splattering at each pounding...
"TAEGEN!!!"
Hazel's eyes snapped open, sitting up and breathing heavily. Her eyes frantically searched the room, realizing that she was in the safe room. She fell back down in her bed, trying to calm her erratic breathing.
"Taegen..." she whispered as she fell back to sleep.
Hazel once again awoke, but this time it was to warmer voices and the smell of food.
"Finally, you're awake." Someone huffed. She looked up to see the familiar brown haired, grumpy Italian, Lovino. "Everyone is already eating."
She sat up, staring at him. Had she done something wrong to make him mad? Her eyebrows furrowed as the words he just said spun around, then suddenly made sense. She was getting a little better at this.
"Well, are you just going to sit there, or are you going to get up and eat?" The Italian snapped again. Hazel jumped a little, but then pushed the blankets away and got out of bed. Lovino's green eyes followed her with the same wariness as Ludwig's did. Hazel had a feeling they didn't trust her yet...
She realized she hardly cared about that matter as her stomach growled and she headed towards the table. Her mind was finally starting to make more sense of the words that traveled back and forth between people, although there were still many times she coulnd't really catch on.
She started picking up names.
Alfred was the loud one, who looked a little like Arthur despite having normal eyebrows and blue eyes. He also wore glasses, but acted nothing like a nerd. He was probably an American.
Ivan was the tallest one here. He seemed a little scary, but usually had a smile, so he wasn't bad...right?
Francis was the flirty one. He even flirted with his male friends. He tried talking to Hazel once or twice, but she couldn't make sense with his english/french mix anf got confused so he seemed to stop trying.
Antonio seemed to be the happy type. He always had a smile on his face and had a Spanish accent. Something about him was familiar to Hazel and reminded her of Max...
Gilbert was also a loud one. He was Ludwig's older brother, even if he didn't act like him...
Yao was Kiku's older brother. He was pretty strict and formal while speaking, but it was more like he was the oldest one rather than the one in charge.
Finally, the last one she learned about was Matthew. He seemed really shy and spoke very quietly. Hazel found his personality more comforting since he spoke in simple sentences to her so that she could understand.
"...We're heading to the basement today since we found a key to there-"
"Key." Hazel's eyes jumped up form her long hard thinking about the people she was trying to memorize when she heard Ludwig talking about a key. Her dream the previous night flashed through her mind.
"How many of us should go?" Yao asked. "Maybe some should stay here and..." He trailed off, his amber brown eyes drifting towards Hazel. Her gut felt like it fell into a pit...they thought she was dangerous. She had to show them she wasn't anything like that hideous monster.
"I-I..." She began, feeling the words come to her. "I know house...can help."
"She had a point..." Alfred gave a shrug. "She's been here for a long time, so she probably knows every crack in the wall in this place."
"Have you been to the basement before?" Ludwig's cold, blue gaze settled on her. She shivered, remembering, before nodding.
"Alright, then..." Ludwig mused. "We should make a small group, since a big group would cause too much attention...I will go with Hazel, Antonio, and Lovino. "
"i'll go to!" Feli butted in suddenly. I blinked at his suddenness.
"No, Feli. That would make it too big of a group. We need to keep it small."
Feli seemed to sink at that.
"O-okay."
*****************
"Basement..." Hazel muttered, feeling safe next to the others. She wasn't alone anymore in this house, which was good. Her feet didn't make any noise as tip toed down the stairs.
"There..." She pointed at the door. Uneasiness came over her again. The basement was just full of bad memories...
"Alright..." Ludwig unlocked the door. "Brace yourselves..."
