"We've found a key to the TV room!" Feli cheered happily as the group had returned from their searching for that day. Hazel could now move round without difficulty and was feeling even more useless...but brightened as Feli handed her the key for inquiry. "Where to you-a think it goes to?"
Hazel rotated the dull, grey item that resembled the same color of her eyes in her hands. At first, she didn't know where it could lead to. Usually when she picked something, she immediately knew where it went to...
But then suddenly she knew. It was like she been sent it by something....
Startled for a second, she didn't reply right away. She eyes trailed back down to the key in her hands....it was the study room key. The one that lead to that room with the cell.
"Is something wrong?"
One of her friends voices startled her out of her thoughts.
"Wrong...? No." She shook her head quickly. She handed it back to Feli. "Study room. It goes to the study room..."
But something was wrong...
**********************************
After numerous times of persuading (begging) Lovino to let her go, he finally allowed her to join the group that went to the study room.
If he could go along as well of course.
Hazel learned from Francis that the feeling was called "love", but when she asked Lovino more about it, he blushed red and asked her where she heard about it. Francis soon got a cuss out for that.
Was love a bad thing, then? Lovino always seemed to be protecting her from things that could harm her...could love hurt her?
But that really was important to her right now. What she hated was the slow feeling of dread she had started to get once she remembered where that key went. it was...what was the word...? Deja vu. Like she had told someone where it went before.
Like something very bad had happened.
What most confused her was how little by little her sanity was slowly coming back, and with her sanity, she was beginning to remember more and more of her past. Of how exactly her friends had died.
The other strange thing was that she could remember other faces as well. It was as if she had tried helping other people before but had forgotten somehow...
"Hazel..." She felt someone touch her shoulder. Jumping back, her natural instinct was swing her hatchet at whatever had touched. However, she stopped halfway to grabbing her hatchet as seeing it was only Lovino.
He looked confused by her startled-ness. She usually was a little jumpy, but not this nervous.
"What's wrong with you?"
He probably had meant to word it as 'is something wrong' instead of implying something wrong with her, but Hazel brushed off the slightly insulting question.
"Nothing." She replied, staring forward at Ludwig, Feli, and Kiku in front of them. They had reached the locked study room door. Ludwig swiftly unlocked it, stepping forward with his whip at hand into the room. Nothing approached...
"There's...button." Hazel walked towards a chimney that was at the right of them room. She removed a brick that was slightly out of place, revealing a worn out red button that looked they it had been pressed many times. She pressed it.
The four others watched as the bookshelf to the left of the room lurched right, sliding out of the way of a brown door.
They were about to go forward when Kiku suddenly patted his side.
"My ninjato...it's gone!" He said, his brown eyes widening in surprise. Hazel suddenly remembered that she saw something on the table in the other room.
"Be right back." She told them heading towards the door, it slamming shut behind her. She hated how every door in the house never held open...like they liked to not reveal what was going on inside them so that the monsters could better attack you by surprise.
The ninjato, Kiku's sword, was on the table. Strange...Kiku never had it leave his side. She didn't notice him place it on the table...
Never the less, she picked it up and went back to the study room.
Everything was strangely quiet...
Chills imediantely went up her arms, she stood on edge. It was close...very close. Her heartbeat speeded up as she held the ninjato out in front of her, just in case she needed it as she opened the door that lead to the cell room.
"Hazel! Watch out! He's crazy!" Ludwig yelled at her, all four of her friends were behind the cell, as if trying to get away from something.
There, standing outside of the cell, Stood a boy that was a couple years older than her. He had dark brown hair that shone brightly and similarly colored eyes that held happiness. He looked a lot like Hazel, like they were related.
"O'Brien..." She stood, gaping at her older brother. It was impossible...he had died right before her eyes...
