We don't talk anymore

Chapter 4

Lily's POV:

"I'm sorry Mr. Fitz" I said while I was trying to find my English notebook "I can't find my n..." I looked up and didn't see Mr. Fitz in front of me, in fact a woman stood right by my table. "Where is Mr. Fitz" I asked her. "Mr. Fitz and I switched classes, I am now teaching you guys and he's teaching my class. Don't ask me why, it needed to be done. I'm Mrs. Watson and you, young lady, you have detention because you forgot your notebook." "It's just one time" I said. "That's one time too much, miss ..." "Montgomery."

So after classes I went to detention, I was just doing my homework when my phone buzzed so I got it out of my bag hoping no one would see.

Lils, Are you still at school? I'm picking you up!

"Miss Montgomery, may I ask what you are doing here" I looked up and saw it was Mr. Fitz. "Mr. Fitz! I forgot my notebook in English class today... Why aren't you teaching us anymore?" "Oh, well I think you can go home, your mom is probably waiting for you." I looked at him as if he was crazy. How did he know that my mom was waiting for me? I decided to forget it and got my stuff and left with my mom.

The next day, Taylor and I walked through the school again. "Hey, there is Mr. Fitz" Taylor said "Mr. Fitz!" He turned to us. "Hey girls! How are you?" "Great" I said. "Yeah! Me too" Taylor began "I was just wondering if you and Lily's mom were in a..." "We weren't wondering anything at all" I said interrupting her, knowing what she was going to say "we actually need to go." "No we don't." Mr. Fitz looked at us. "What's going on?" I rolled my eyes while I was hoping and praying Taylor would ask a different question. "Well... Nothing really. It's just that I was wondering something and I know my mom doesn't want me to ask you and Lily doesn't want me too either but did you and Aria had a relationship?" "A relationship?" "I know right" I said "I already told Taylor that you were my moms teacher so you guys couldn't have dated but she just won't listen to me..." "You're right Taylor" he sighed "Aria and I dated, we both know it wasn't right Lily." I looked at him like I had seen a ghost, I just couldn't believe it. "I got to go" I said and as I walked away I could hear them talk. "Don't worry she'll understand later" I heard Taylor say. "I'm not so sure."

I walked straight home, I didn't care that it costed me 40 minutes to get home. "Mom" I said when I opened the door. "I'm over here." I walked towards her and she probably saw my mad face. "What's wrong?"

Aria's POV:

"Why didn't you say anything? You dated your teacher? Who is my teacher right now?! Don't deny it, he confessed after Taylor asked him" Lily said. "You only know half of it..." "Them start telling me the whole thing. I know you know who my dad is and I think I've waited long enough." "Lils... I met him in a pub called Snookers, the one you wanted to go to when we just got here. He played B26, a song that's called Happiness by the Fray, it soon became our song and I didn't know he was by teacher until we met again in class the next morning... We tried to stop it, we tried to ignore our feelings but we couldn't. So we kept dating until I was pregnant with you" I said. "You cheated on him?" "No! No of course not. We just... It's just that... Being back here brings back a lot of memories and..." "He is my father isn't he" Lily said interrupting me "that's why he can't teach me anymore, you told him so he switched classes." "God... You got the smartness of your aunt, he is... I'm sorry Lil. I wanted to tell you earlier but I didn't know how. We ended things roughly and I missed him, like a lot and every time I saw you, you remind me of him. You have his eyes and your personality has some similarities too... I just..." "It's okay, he can be a cool dad I think." "I've always admired your positivismin the worst conversations. I should have told you earlier and I'm so sorry for that but..." "Can I call him?" "Uhm, yeah sure." I got out my phone, dialed Ezra's number and gave it to Lily, she put it on speaker.

"Hey Aria" he said. "Hi dad" lily said grinning. "Lily?" "I'm sorry I reacted that way this afternoon but I just..." "It's okay" he said "so Aria told you?" "Yeah, well I confronted her. I... I love you" Lily said and I couldn't help but smile at her happy face. She looked so peaceful, how she was holding the phone and talking to her dad. Times like this made me regret not telling them even more but I knew that they would get back all the time they missed. "Ezra" I started "you think you can come over tonight, have dinner with us and all." "Yeah sure!" "Should I get pizza?" "Yes! I love pizza" Lily said "but with extra cheese!"

Ezra's POV:

After I got the pizza's, I drove to Aria's place. I pushed my nerves aside and knocked on the door. Aria opened it. "Hey" I said awkwardly. She hugged me and whispered something in my ear "I'm so sorry." "You don't have to be sorry, of course I would have loved to see her grow up but I'm glad I can get to know her now." Aria took my jacket and I walked further into the house, at a complete decked table sat Lily reading a book, she looked up and a smile appeared on her face. "Hey dad" she said. "Hey Lils, what are you reading?" "Just a book" she said closing it and putting it away "I smell pizza." I smiled. "That's right, a pizza for you with extra cheese!" "Thank you" she said while she stood up and hugged me "I love you." I hugged her back and smiled at Aria, she smiles back at me. "I love you too."

We sat down at their dining table. "Do you remember the first day we met" I asked Lily. "Of course I do, it was my first day in Rosewood, my first day as a freshman. You said something like..." "Holy crap" I said. "The exact same thing you said to me" Aria said. "Really?" "Yeah, you reminded me of her. You look a lot like Aria." "Yeah I know, I hear it all the time" Lily said "the only difference is my eye color, because they're yours." "Yeah they are." Lily stared at Aria and I for quite some time. "Something wrong" Aria asked her. "No..." she sighed "well actually yes... What about now? You and dad?" "We still need to figure that out" Aria said hinting at me "but it's nothing you need to worry about." "Will you ever come back to each other again?" "I don't know Lily, you're done with your pizza" Aria asked. "Yes." "Okay can you get the ice cream from the freezer?" Lily stood up and walked to their freezer. "I think it's better if you stay at your own place tonight, I don't want things to rush and even though she loves you I think she'll need some time." "I understand" I said "I will give all the time she and you need." She took my hand and looked at me before Lily returned with the ice cream. "Thank you."
