Chapter 3 ("The Real Amber is BACK")

Amber's POV

I woke up late because of what we did yesterday. Walking all day around the mall is just exhausting.No joke.

Then, I felt a sudden surge of my heart beating rapidly again. What the heck?! Why is this happening to me?

I ran downstairs to meet my mom doing the dishes. I quickly pull out a chair from the table.

"Mom?" I asked unconciously not noticing that I'm still on my pj's.
"Yes?" Mom quickly answered.
"How did you and dad met and knew each other?" I asked with my eyes looking straight outside the windows.

Yea. Yea. I know, I'm so dumb for asking that stupid question. But, I don't know, I just wanted to know the answer.

"What?! What makes you ask that?" Mom replied while laughing a bit.
"Please stop laughing, Mom. I'm serious. Just answer my question."
"Okay, okay." Mom raised her both hands in the air as if in surrender.

"So, where do I start? Me and your dad had been schoolmates from highschool to college. We are not exactly classmates because were just "schoolmates".
He is very famous in our school that's why many girls had been attracted to him and knew him. But me, I'm not like them like I am not fangirling at that time, I just let him do what he want and I just didn't mind him. But then, I realized that I have feelings for your dad. In the first place, I am thinking that he wouldn't notice me. But, when college came, your dad confessed his feelings to me too. So, that's it. You fine, honey?" Mom explained to me.

I am frozed hanging in my position still looking straight out the windows as if I'm finding someone so hard.

"Uh-uh uhmm... Yeah. Thanks for sha-sharing mom. I-I-Im just gonna go back to my room." I shakingly went to my room stuttering the words I have said earlier.

"Uhh..Okay. You ain't gonna eat breakfast?" Mom asked.
"I'm fine and I am not hungry." I said while walking towards my room and my back facing my mom.

I turned my television on for me to watch because I'm getting bored anyways. I haven't turned on my tv unlike I usually did since I lost my sister.

"A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!! ARE YOU A FAN OF FOODS? OR I SHOULD SAY DO YOU LOVE FOOD? ANYTHING WOULDN'T BE BETTER WITHOUT FOOD. SO, COME NOW AND JOIN OUR KIDS COOKING SHOWDOWN TALENT SHOW! AUDITIONS WILL BE ON 26TH OF JUNE, 2016 AT 8:30 AM. SO, JOIN NOW AND ENJOY TO PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD!" an announcer or advertisement flashed.

I am actually interested. And like I said before, I was once a cook. I love cooking and it became my hobby since I was little. I feel like my passion for cooking came back. I am so excited to tell my mom if she would let me audition.

"Okay, what are the requirements I needed?" I asked myself with my right hand on my chin. I am just so happy that my mom agreed to join the talent show.

"Birth Certificate, ID...??" I said to no one in particuar. I can't believe I am happy again.

"Okay, Almost ready!" I squealed.

"Too excited?" Matthew teased me with a smirk.

"Oh c'mon, Amber. The auditions starts tomorrow and it's morning only." Matthew laughed and gave me an annoying look.

"Yea, Fine. I know. I am just too excited!" I released a girly squeal and Matthew gave me a confused look.

"Woah, Amber. I've never seen you so happy again. It's good to be yourself again, right?" Matthew asked me seriously.

"What do you mean?"

Matthew went out my room and I just rolled my eyes at him playfully and continued preparing the things/requirements I needed for the auditions.
