Madeline's p.o.v
"hold tight"
i obeyed as i felt him start to run i felt the fresh air as he held me closer to avoid getting cold.
i closed my eyes starting to get dizzy i stayed like that for a while until i heard Cody cough awkwardly.
i opened my eyes just to see that he stopped running and were now at the back of a run down barn i felt my cheeks burn up in embarrassment.
"uhm sorry i thought you were still running" i said wiggling my legs so he'll put me down.
"yeah well you thought wrong" he said dropping me on the grass.
"ouch you asshole that hurt" i said getting up rubbing my ass.
"walk" he said in a stern voice as he started walking into the barn.
he is the most bipolar person iv'e ever met.
i did as told and followed behind him like a lost puppy ... oh the irony.
inside there was a bunch of hay lying around stalls on each side in the middle was a huge kiosk with little lights hanging from it
"don't ask my great grandfather built it hasn't been touched since my great grandmothers death".
"sorry" i whispered still admiring how pretty it looked.
"you can change in any stall seeing that you've come packed i'm guessing you don't need me to lend you clothes" he gestured to my backpack
"no i'm good thanks but is there somewhere i can rinse this blood off of me?" i asked as politely as i could seeing he was in a mood.
"yeah last stall on the left" he pointed to the stall.
"thanks" i whispered.
i'm pretty sure they didn't use this as an actual barn since it was super clean, animal free, and poop free.
i popped my head out to see if Cody was close.
"i'm on the kiosk i can't see anything don't worry" he answered as if he knew what i was thinking.
i sighed nodding to myself .
i turned the hose on and rinsed the blood off making sure to get it out of my long hair.
as soon as i got it all off i grabbed my backpack taking out my clothes.
i grabbed a light dark gray sweater and slipped it along with my black bralette,
i slipped on some light jeans with my black lace panties.
i tied my light brown straight hair in a ponytail leaving some strands loose.
i put on some socks and slipped on my white converse.
i walked out looking for Cody .
i found him still on the kiosk staring at everything around him he looked almost sad
i walked towards him and up the kiosk.
on the kiosk there was a old fashioned coffee table it was really cute and peaceful here
"my great grandfather proposed to my great grandmother here."
i was confused as to why he was telling me this seeing it was very personal and he is a very closed person.
"she was killed her 76 years later by a wolf."
oh
i was about to a apologize and say that we're not all the same, but he started walking down the little stairs off the kiosk.
i sighed and followed him down and out the barn.
we were at the entrance when i smelled someones else's scent coming closer.
"go hide under the hay " Cody said raising his voice a bit .
i don't know why but i couldn't move my legs as if i had been frozen in place.
"now!" Cody said louder making me scared as he said it i ran back in the barn and hid under the hay.
"CODY LEWIS HERBINKO" i heard someone scream with a deep raspy voice.
i covered my ears since i have very good hearing, it hurt my ears like hell.
"yes father?" Cody said in a relaxed voice.
oh shit. i'm screwed. practically dead.
"why aren't you guarding the borders? oddly there's been signs of wolves very close to our borders" the man said in a stern voice colder than Cody's voice which gave me the chills.
"i knew i smelled something weird that's why i'm here, i checked everywhere nothing here" Cody lied nicely i almost believed it myself.
"oh i apologize son i figured since you're in always here you just didn't want to guard the grounds uhm good job son i'll see you at the dinner table."
"apology accepted" Cody said in a confident voice.
and with that i heard footsteps. guessing they're his fathers since Cody let out a shaky breath as soon as the footsteps were too far to be heard.
i had so many questions running through my head, i was so curious as to why he and his father talked to each other that way or why his father seemed, in a way, afraid of Cody or what he meant when he said Cody spends all his time in here, the list goes on.
"you can come out now" Cody said as he walked towards me and held his hand out to me to help me stand up.
I didn't take his hand and stood up myself which caused him to frown. i'm honestly still scared of him and i'm confused overall by this vamp.
i picked up my backpack hanging it over my shoulders i turned my back towards Cody as i faced outside the barn.
"what's next?" i ask just above a whisper.
i felt him take a few steps closer to me, any closer and i'd be pressed up against him.
i felt his breath hit my neck which caused bumps to rise all over my skin and for my eyes to close.
and with the softest voice iv'e heard he said two words that made me feel safe.
"we run."
