Madeline's p.o.v

"we run."

i stared at him questioningly.

confused was an understatement.

"but first let's find a quiet hidden spot so you can tell me why and who you're running from."

there's the Cody i met only a couple hours ago ugh.

"i still don't understand why you're so interested in me or the reasons i'm doing what i'm doing."

i sigh in defeat knowing he won't tell me the real reasons.

he stared at me for what felt like years but were only 50 seconds his eyes felt like they were reading into my soul like an open book.

he started taking small steps towards me.

as he came forward i took steps back until my back hit the wall lightly

he stood right in front of me almost pressed against me.

i felt his cold breath hit my face, his eyes never leaving mine, i felt myself hold my breath unable to move in any way possible.

i couldn't even blink.

"you interest me Madeline"

the way my name rolled off his lips made my skin crawl and knees weak.

"you're pure and beautiful"

i couldn't help the blush that spread on my cheeks like a wild fire.

"so innocent" he whispered.

his eyes lowered to my lips

"there's something about you that keeps pulling me in."

his sea blue eyes started to study me like a map that leads to treasure.

"i want to know you, your worries, what keeps you up at midnight staring at the ceiling, i want to know what makes you're eyes shine when you talk about something or someone you love, i want to know you Madeline but since that's impossible let my at least know why and who you're running from."

he stated as he started to take a few steps back lowering his head.

"why is it impossible?" i ask, as soon as i say this his head rises with a hurt expression on his pale face.

"don't you dare ask me that." he say with a cold voice.

"you have a mate, or you will eventually, and so do i, there's so many things Madeline like oh i don't know the fact that i'm a vampire and you're a werewolf " he whispers the last part looking down.

"we would never be truly happy."
