"So you really think I should ask him out?"
Stas asked me with worried eyes.
"Well, why not?"
"Fine...but later though."
"I want it to be special."
She said with glee beaming from her face.
I didn't know her or Sam that well but I could tell they had feelings for each other and have for a long time too.
"As much as I'd love to sit here and chat, I think I wanna get some fresh air, and maybe check out some places around the city." I lied to Stasi just so I could get the two alone together. I really had nothing better to do anyways.
"Wait before you go, there's this party on Friday at one of my good friends places on the beach and I think you should come and get to know some people here in the area, but I mean only if you'd like to." She said handing me my house key from across the kitchen table. "I'd be glad to, now go have fun with Sam I have to get going now love." I said and huged her with my one free hand, then shut the door behind me.The elevator seemed to be taking much too long, therefor my only option seemed to be the stair case at this point.
The fresh air of Seattle hit me in the face like a brick wall. The roads filled with cramped cars to the brim and the walk ways cramped with eager and angry rising people. I found the nearest drug store and searched for pain killers, hoping to get rid of this painful lump plastered on my hip bone. Searching through isles, I found some simple white chalky pills in a small tube. I took what I needed and proceeded to check out by the front. I rushed into the nearest restroom and vegans to fettle with the wrapping on the cap.
I took the see through plastic bag and opened the compartment of pills and made sure to chug one down with the water from the pharmacy bathroom faucet.
The residue from the pill stuck on the root of my mouth bothering me as I made fixes to my hair in the stalls mirror.
My phone vibrated in the compartment of my back pocket in my jeans. It was Nash but I missed the call by the time I attempted to answer. 'Meet me back at Sam's place around 6:00, I wanna take you somewhere...' I read off to myself. It was amazing how he could call then reply within a second later.
The idea was provisional at the moment considering it came close to 5:30 in the afternoon, but I was willing to go along with his mysterious, unknown plan.
'Expect to see me there:)'
I replied with a hasty attempt to end the situation, then proceeded to walk out of the convenient store and back out onto the trashed yet alluring sight of this unfamiliar town.
The fog was low making my palms moist and muggy when I walked the way back to the brick apartment complex to meet up with Nash.
He wasn't in the lobby when I tried to buzz in the apartments number but thankfully I held onto the house key.
When I walked in the corridor into the apartment it was empty and the same way I had left it.
The lights were off and blinds had been shut but the tv was still on and playing.
I changed into the closest item in my duffel bag that seemed to mach, then made sure to turn around in the mirror to adjust the way my cloths fit, so it wouldn't bother my side. I made sure to hide my pain pills in the inside pocket so he wouldn't suspect anything hopefully. Then, just as I began to walk to the front, the buzzer rang at the door way.
"Come down, I need to take you somewhere..." I could almost feel the smile that grew upon his pink pastel cheeks. I didn't bother to respond considering I was way beyond nervous at this point but my excitement made sure to over grow my fearfulness the second I stepped in the elevator.
The 1970's ash grey paint made the walls feel gloomy and large in a way that was almost uncomfortable, but the second he came to into my vision all my feelings were eroded away within the blink of an eye.
The way I broke down was like old copper pipes but it was because of how every time he stared into my eyes he made shivers of cold air run in my head and what felt like sand paper hands scatter across the canvas of my shallow silhouette.
He had such simplicity in a way that made things almost calm perhaps.
Then after what seemed to be hours of staring him down my confidence outgrew my numb feeling, then I took his hand in mine and from there... Well the rest is history.||End of part six||
