We spent the next hour or two wandering around the island, seeing if there was anyone else there. Unfortunately not. We were the only people.
"We need to go find some food." I said, taking charge.
"How about you find food and I'll find somewhere to sleep?" Maya said. Logical thinking.
We decided to meet in the same spot when we were finished. We separated, and went to look for what we needed.

I wandered deeper into the trees, looking for anything cave-like that we could sleep in. After about 10 minutes, I found what we needed. It was a long but small, dark cave sheltered by trees. I started to clamber inside when I heard a scream. I immediately ran over to where Lucas was, and saw him clinging to a tree.
"What happened? Was that your scream?" I ask him.
"No no of course not. Mine is... Really low and... Manly." He nodded. "Eh, there was a snake and it scared me because it hissed at me." I saw the snake below the tree. It hissed again at Lucas, and Lucas did his high-pitched scream again. That boy can scream higher than I can.
I picked up the snake and walked to the edge of the sea and chucked it in. Lucas was clearly scared.
"Awk, bubba... The big bad snake is gone now." I smiled at him but he shot me a dirty look.
"So... Did you find anywhere to stay?" He asked, trying to put his manly voice on.
"Yeah, follow me."

Later that night we had dinner on the beach. Sounds pretty nice, but when mosquitos are attacking you constantly, you start to disagree. Our meal was not fancy; just a mixture of fruits and leaves. We sat in an awkward silence throughout, occasionally smiling at each other. How are we going to get out of here? Maya stood up and walked to the water's edge. She gazed out onto the sea, the moonlight making her look amazing. I could see tears rolling down her cheeks, and I wanted to go and comfort her but I felt like I shouldn't because she was technically dating Josh.
Suddenly, she ran forwards into the water. I didn't know what she was doing, so I stood up and walked a few steps forward. It was a bottle. She was holding a bottle. I sat back down and threw a few more twigs onto the fire. She sat down beside me and opened it.
"There's a note." She said as she grabbed it out of the bottle.
Maya and Lucas,
We know you won't get this. We know because you are dead. Farkle is blaming himself for everything but I'm telling him not to.
When this happened, we were all knocked out of the boat. All of us were unconscious but you two must have been dead and sunk to the bottom of the sea. A lifeguard saw us in trouble and contacted the lifeboat. He was able to save Zay, Farkle and I but they couldn't find you. We knew you must have been dead.
Anyway, you won't be able to read this because you are dead. I sent this because I miss you and love you.
Rest in peace, my best friends.
