Chapter 2

Lucas |

Okay, stay calm, don't let the girls see you panic! I thought. Farkle had control over the boat with Zay so I thought I needed to get the girls inside. Next thing we were underwater. I woke up and it was morning.

Maya |

The water was freezing and that's what woke me up. Well, that and someone shaking me. It was all a bit hazy. Maya... Maya... Wake up, Maya... It felt like a voice inside my head. I jumped up, startled to be in water with Lucas right beside me.

"Are you alright, Maya?" Lucas asked.

"What happened? Why are we in the middle of the ocean? Huh?" I was so confused.

"Maya... Farkle's yacht sunk. We were all thrown out of it. The others aren't waking up."

Lucas |

Tears filled Maya's eyes. We've got to get to safety. But... We're in the middle of the sea...

"Come on. Follow me. We've got to find land." I tried to say this confidently, but my voice wavered.

"But, Lucas... I can't. I'm... I'm... I'm not a good swimmer." Tears started falling down her cheeks.

"Get on my back then. Quickly." I said as she got on.

We swam for what felt like hours but was probably about 30 minutes. When I started to give up, Maya screamed.

"What is it?! Is it a shark?!" I feared for the worst.

"No... It's... It's..." She smiled. "Land!" We both started swimming as fast as we could; me doing frontcrawl and Maya flopping around like a fish. But hey, we still moved.

Maya |

I had felt something I rarely ever did. It was... Joy. Joy for the land. Joy for the fact I was still alive.

We walked onto the island like we were mermaids who had just grown legs and walked onto dry land for the first time ever. I collapsed to the ground, but obviously Lucas thought something was wrong.

"Maya! Maya! What's wrong? How are you feeling?" I gazed longingly into his eyes and smiled.

"I'm just happy we're alive."

So guys, how did you like Chapter 2? Sorry for very small Lucas bits but I just find it easier to write as Maya. I'll write Chapter 3 tomorrow but tell me what you thought!
