"Help" I heard a scream. I had awoken from a bad dream, so I thought. The Scream broke all of my thoughts. I stood up and ran to the sound. I saw smoke from the other side of the hill, I walk up and see a village, normal thriving, however, a building wasn't so fine, smoke appeared from the building, the fire got out of control. I thought it was just getting in my head. "Anyone Help!"

"Milord!" Yelled Frederick. I looked back seeing the armored knight. "What are you doing here milord?" I glanced back at the village. "That is why!" I looked at the ashes coming from the village, "We have to go now!" I ran into the village, Bandits surrounding the whole facility. I ran to the house on fire, a scream came right after, I avoided coming in contact with any of the bandits, I glanced back, I saw Frederick, 'The Great Knight'  The bandits wouldn't stand a chance. More screaming "Please no..." Then silence, it came from that same women. "Leave her alone!". I looked through the window, "Great!" I tried opening the door, however, it was locked. I walked back a few steps, one, two. I rammed into the door fire was surrounding the temple. Nothing to modern, it looked old. "Probably a Church" I corrected myself. I ran upstairs checking if everyone left. "Hello! Anyone?" After the words I said, crying came afterwards. It was a baby. "I am coming!" I dashed looking for the baby, following the sound of the cry. This didn't feel like the ordinary, pick out berries and practice sword fighting type of night. Or look at the night sky waiting for Frederick and the normal soldiers to find me. They never let me leave the royal house.

The cry was getting louder. The building barely stable, I walked as lightly as possible, and as fast as well. Then finally the crying got quieter, and quieter. I was running as fast as I can, forgetting about the fragile floor collapsing beneath me. I see a carriage across a little platform of wood, surprisingly not on fire, I tip toe across the fire, making me nervous and sweat. The crying got quieter once more, what did that mean. Didn't matter at the time. I finally step off of the wooden platform. I grabbed the baby. I saw it was still crying, I didn't know how I felt, just happy. I smiled at the baby. I finally look up and was greeted bye a picture of the infant girl. I decided to take it with me.

As I hold the infant in my hands, I saw its face, so innocent and full of life. However at the moment, the infants face wasn't happy, sad, crying, it felt if it was trapped, with me, in this building. I looked out the window, we couldn't fall from this height, I could possibly live, put the baby.... it wouldn't

"We are getting out now okay." I wipe the ash near its eyes, and looked forward, most of this wooden building had collapsed, the stairs wouldn't hold us. I didn't care at the time, I ran through the stairs, some of the staircases were catching on fire, I still ran, the little Infant in my hands, I wouldn't let it die in here, not like this, I look back at the baby. The infants eyes were opening, it started cry quieter, and quieter. I didn't think I could make it. I still ran and ran, the ashes getting into my lungs and the infants, I still couldn't find the exit, the stair case just brought me to the heart of the fire, There laid an Axe, traced with blood, a Women laying there on the ground to, this attack wasn't an ordinary one. It wasn't a robbery of any kind, it was murder. That scream from before, I didn't know who it was. But the murderer left the crime scene. I need to report this to Frederick, however - I look down at the baby, saw her eyes close, ash getting near her eyes again. I wipe them of once more, "We will get out, I promise!" The baby smiled.... in a way.

As I grab the axe, I see the woman again, but she was the.... victim. I looked at the Woman, glanced back at the baby. A tear went down my cheek, it was the infants mother. "Where is your father?" The wooden floor started to collapse. I looked out of the window, a ravine leading to a lake is right behind the building. Although... it.... it was to risky. "Leave now fiend!" I look back, that wasn't Frederick. It was General Ross, the leader of the brigade. If any bandits were spotted in the country trying to do anything bad, they would be there. They act as the police in a way.

Ross was followed by Frederick and a few other soldiers, most likely trying find me as usual. However Frederick got there attention.

"Hold on, I am coming!" The voice... it was

"Sumia!" I looked down, her graceful smile made me happy again. The Pegasus brigade was here too, the Bandits must have been here too. "Why are you here?" I asked, "I went to go looking for you as usual!" She replied. "One of the Pegasus knights are coming to get you!" She said, I nodded, so much stressed relieved. I open the window again. Greeted by one of the Pegasus Knights, I jumped on to the Pegasus, finally, warm air. I looked down at the baby, her eyes were closed. "You are safe now" I said happily. The baby crying as usual, however, it didn't stop and it still got quieter and quieter. "You don't have to cry anymore......." I do.......

Tears come down my face right when the crying had stopped. It wasn't breathing, I couldn't do anything, that's why she cried quieter and quieter. As the Pegasus landed at the ground, I was greeted by Sumia. She wasn't happy, the houses all burned down. The whole village was filled with ashes, except the building I came out of. I looked down at the baby, hopped of the Pegasus, Sumia was standing there, "We can't do anything now, you rescued the only living thing out of that building." She said. "I would be lying if I were to agree with you..." I replied, walking away. "Are you alright?" She asked. I didn't answer. I kept walking up the little hill, the tree I lay against whenever I look at the stars. The picture I had stolen earlier - I looked at it, placed it, laying against the tree. I sat down, with the baby in my arms, the infant, with her eyes closed. Another tear slowly runs down my cheek. If only I could rescue her faster, If only I could have saved your mother, If only you didn't have to die in my arms, If only you were alive...... Then I would be happy.

I placed the baby right next to the portrait, The name 'Mia' was carved in it. I placed the lifeless body of the infant laying against the damp tree.

That was how I found out an important emotion.

Sadness - this incident had happened only the year after I had become a legal prince of Valm. Ever since this day,I felt emotions. In a real way. I felt sadness.

Things changed

I finally felt emotions....

                                                    -Modern Day Valm-

I walked quietly across the forest, the flowers were starting to blossom. The sun was shining and once trees suddenly stopped appearing, I was greeted by the hill, I could see the portrait from here, I walk slowly and saw a woman in the distance, grey-ish pink hair. "Sumia?" She looked back. "Ahhh, Prince Alm, it is a pleasure to be in your presence!" Her nice smile made me feel warm. "It isn't necessary for you to call me that Sumia." I stated. She smiled, "Sorry milord, I mean... Alm." I smiled back. "Nice to meet you too!" I said sarcastically.

I walked up to the tree on the hill, Sumia and I laughing, eating our chocolate chip cookies. Sitting next to the portrait of Mia. The day sky was fading as the night soon rolled in.

I guess I also learned another emotion - without Sumia, I wouldn't learn happiness.

For Rebecca! Enjoy, the next chapter should come between next week and the week after. Sorry for the long wait between chapters. I still need to build the plot!

Hug ya later!
