Day and Night passed between the day of the fire. A whole 3 years went by.
I look at the stars as I try to sleep. The starry night distracting me of my slumber. It didn't matter because tomorrow, I am going to be a part of the brigade. Tomorrow is going to be a great day!
I woke up, as usual, my room was large for sure. The whole palace was large as well. I got out of bed looked out the window, the sun was shining. I felt beaming, happy, full of joy. I walked out of my room. The hall was filled with people, normally people with a higher rank, at the top of the hierarchy. The hallway was colored Golden, white, and light green. Patterns on the walls. A pleasant aroma filled the walls. I was going to skip breakfast, I need to go to General Ross now. However, I wouldn't think I would miss the event. I stopped running and walked the palace. I was greeted by a lot of people, they were contented. Filled with joy. Of course, I would be obligated to introduce myself, although I didn't mind. I still walked around the hallways before I walked into the gallery.
My sister was walking around at the gallery, as usual, she cries a lot when she sees this lady, dressed in a white heavenly dress. She would always look at the female on the wall with respect. She would smile. I didn't understand. The woman had black hair, she was smiling, In a field of flowers. Another picture of that woman in the same tree I always sit under to look at the stars. The tree with the portrait of Mia. My eyes were filling with water already. I wiped them off of my cheek. I inhaled and exhaled deeply before confronting my sister. I touched her shoulder and looked up. She looked back, a warm smile was what she displayed on her face trying to look happy. That was a lie.
"Are you alright? You spend a lot of attention looking at that picture." Emmeryn replied back. "I am fine." Emmeryn lied once more. "You aren't." She smiled, truthfully. "You know me too well." She said back. "Come on, you are heading to General Ross soon." She wanted to avoid this whole conversation, I am alright with that. However, how is this lady connected to my sister? "Don't cry now, dry those tears." A voice echoed in the tiny gallery. A tall male was standing, with black hair. Had paladin armor equipped on him. "Marx!" I said playfully. "Hi little brother, heading to General Ross?" I nodded. Marx was a playful older brother. Always there, his hair reminded me of the lady on the wall. Same hair color. Black. My sister had enchanted gold and green hair, felt like royalty. My hair was Azure. Bright blue, my fathers was dark blue.
Marx was playful, my whole childhood included him and Emmeryn, my sister. "Time to go then." He handed out a piece of caramel. "Don't tell mother!" He said. I nodded. I opened the wrapper and saw the caramel treat. I smiled and hugged Marx. I finally walked away from the painting and heading to the exit of the gallery. I look back and see Emmeryn lean her head on Marx's shoulder. Marx shed a tear rolling down his cheek. The lady meant something. I still walked ahead.
Father greeted me with a hollow smile as I walk down the hallway leading to the door. "Heading to the Brigade I see." I nodded. I look at the door in front of me. I open it and see the sun shining. It was a beautiful day. I walked to where the horses were located. The Castle was filled with cherry blossoms, blooming as well. I walk till I heard a voice. I looked back and see Emmeryn. "I am coming too!" She walked towards the horses in the field in front of the Castle. Emmeryn came back with a horse. "Her name is Soleil." Emmeryn had said. "I remember her, she would always take me to the field every night. The field right here!" I hopped on Soleil's back. Emmeryn did as well. Soleil looked happy. "Let's go" I said softly to Soleil. The horse walked gently across the field. Marx was standing at the entrance. I waved back. "Bye!" me and Emmeryn yell. Marx waved. The horse was strolling through the cherry blossom trees. "Are you nervous to meet General Ross?" Emmeryn asked. "I do feel a little hesitant." I replied. She nodded back. "Don't worry he wasn't changed as much through the past 3 years you first met him." I smiled back. The sun, the wind, the trees, it was all so calm. The path that leads to the city was very melodic. The castle was on top of a small hill. You can only see the ground level rise when you are approaching the castle. Then a gate appeared as usual. A gatekeeper would always watch over it in his little tower. "Heading to General Ross!" I said. Emmeryn nodded. The man then opened the gates. Soleil was still walking around very calmly. Beyond the gate were tons of villages close to the main civilization. The kingdom of Valm was a large one. The capital was where the castle would be located. It was a huge one too. Villages had blacksmiths and shops we would normally walk through. I was greeted by tons of people. I waved and smile. So did my sister.
