You and Jack had been together for just over a year now and everything had been going amazingly well until one night when he visited you unexpectedly.
"Jack? Is that you?" You asked confusedly.
"Jack's no longer here sweetheart, but I am..." Jack said in a raspy, low voice.
"What do you mean? Are you alright?" You placed your hand on his shoulder to turn him around and as you did fear coursed through your entire body.
The man that stood facing in front of you was not the Jack you fell in love with. He had scars all over his face, some fairly recent and some old and his eyes no long warm and inviting but now a deep, blood red that could stare into anyone's soul and tear them apart.
"Jack what happened?" You said quickly letting go of him and taking a few steps back.
"Oh my dear Y/N, you could say I've seen the light, changed for the better or even re-invented myself. I'm much more powerful than that old fool you loved. Finally I can rule this miserable world and put everything to how it should be..."
"Please don't do this...Jack if there's still a hint of your old self in there you have to fight this, this..."
Jack grabbed your wrist tightly, digging his nails into your skin, making you hiss in pain while he smiled at his work.
He brought his head to your ear and whispered "Jack's never coming back sweetheart. I'm here for the long run so you better get comfy and enjoy the ride".
And with those spiteful words he threw you onto the floor, with cuts forming all over your body and blood trickling down and marking the ground. He then walked forcefully to the window where he used his staff to smash the glass, causing it to spay all over your room. You ran after him, not caring about he glass sinking into your skin, and desperately screamed his name as he flew off into the night sky. He turned back briefly to look at your newly broken self, he smiled a devilish smile at you and then vanished out of sight.
You turned away from the smashed window and proceeded to walk back to your bed when you stepped on a hard piece of wood. You bent down to pick up the item and found it to be a picture frame with of photo of you and Jack on your birthday, him kissing your cheek while you beamed with happiness. You clutched the photo to your chest tightly while you collapsed to the floor hysterically crying as you knew you'd never feel that happiness and comfort ever again with anyone else.
Jack was the light of your life and now it's been replaced with the darkness of nightmares from his evil reign.
