"So are you guys anything serious?" I asked.
We hadn't been at the Hookah Bar for anymore than an hour and I had already loved who Sid had decided to bring, it was the same guy she had stayed with the weekend prior. He was every bit as funny as she was which was generally a hard thing to come by, and they had a way of playing off of each others crude comments.
"No we're just fucking." Sid ignored the fact that I had been facing Cam when I asked, but he just smirked at her than turned to me and winked.
"Yeah, she's pretty alright but I don't think I'm looking to be tied down at all." He squeezed her hand which he had been holding since we got out of the car. I couldn't help but feel bad for the poor kid, if he thinks the path he's chosen will be an easy one he'd be wrong.
I looked over at Stetson who had been quietly filling the chair beside me ,he wasn't much of a talker I had found out which wasn't a problem for me since I didn't really plan on a relationship with the guy.
"So," I started, a loss for words- Is this guy weird or shy. "Are you having a good first year?"
He looked up from the table and over to me, smiling with long dark eyelashes. "Yeah, it's been alright. Living in the house kind've sucks sometimes because everyone's a dick but I guess it's better than the dorms in the long race."
"You mean run?"
"What?"
"Long run." I corrected, not meaning to sound like a jack ass- Less of a grammar Nazi and more of a literature major.
"No, long race." He took a swig for his coke bottle and continued talking, "but anyways everyone calls me Ste-durr but that's just how frat guys are."
Cam snickered, "Yeah, we can't help ourselves, sometimes you just say the dumbest shit. We love you though."
Stettson laughed and shrugged, "I don't really care anymore, it doesn't bother me- I'm still the weed supplier so I know they'd all be miserable without me."
I snuck a glance at Syd who had the same look on her face as me.
Weed supplier
Tiffany looked uncomfortable the mention of pot and her boyfriend Matt seemed strained in attempt to not bring up the fact that he liked smoking. She knew he did but it wasn't often in order to keep his high school sweetheart.
"Hey I've got to take a wiz, I'll be right back." Stettson stood up and staggered over to the rest rooms.
I waited for him to be out of sight than stood up, "Well I'll go grab some chips for us."
I walked quickly away in hopes I wouldn't be followed I didn't feel like being asked if I was enjoying myself because the truth of the matter was- I wasn't. The entire thing was like a date with Dumb and Dumber except both stars were wrapped into one very attractive guy.
When I got up to the counter I was shocked to see the same green haired boy from the week before. It was slicked back again, but today he sported a single dangly cross earring and a jean jacket. "Uh, Hi."
He looked up at me, his turquoise eyes compelling and nearly impossible to not feel violated by. "Back to steal more shit from my shop, I see." He looked back down at his book not even the slightest bit interested in my presence.
"Stop accusing me of something you can't prove- and this isn't your shop." I scoffed, face red.
He raised an eyebrow, "That's odd, I was pretty sure I had to get rid of Charlie because I caught him on camera being so infatuated with you and your friend that he never noticed the two of you thieving everything you got your hands on."
