"Good morneeng" Our driver greeted us with a smile at 8 am sharp. We mumbled our greeting while piling into the car.

I chewed a cracker as our driver droned on about how awesome today was going to be. I mean I was excited too but lack of sleep has many adverse effects on a person.

"You use coconut in your gravy?" My mom asked Kedak as her inner chef took charge. "Yung coconut" Kedak beamed. I made a mental note of that as we sped past cinemas and malls.

We reached a theater to see a traditional Bali play. Turned out to be more of a dance in Bahasa Indonesia but still funny.

The dressed up animal calls a Barong looked like a hybrid of a big dog with tusks. The way he walked had the whole audience in splits.

The rock cave was next. As we drunk the coconut water and ate peanuts little monkeys followed us through the narrow paths in the forest.

Each leading us to somewhere new and full of life. Here the crickets creaked and butterflies flew. And the woods surrounded us had a life of its own.

Wandering through a strange path I continued past some boulders covered with moss and there in the middle was a tiny waterfall. Purple emperors and yellow commons fluttered near just not coming in range. The little cove hidden from the world was a beauty in itself.

Roaming the countryside of Ubud, we stopped at the rice terraces watching the lush green sway in the wind.

The rain gave the whole scene a vivid outlook. Like the world in high definition.

Skipping through little puddles the short spell of rain had left behind the rice cultivations gave a view of a more calmer and soothing Bali.

7 pm approached and we continued to the Rama Palace in Ubud. To see the performance of Ramayana which happened once a week.

As the show started and actors in intricate clothing appeared, the whole show glistened with light and laughter. Hanuman with his little monkey soldiers stole the show.

On the way back to our hotel, the radio played softly.

If I got locked away
And we lost it all today
Tell me honestly
Would you still love me the same

If I showed you my flaws
And I couldn't be strong
Tel me honestly
Would you still love me the same

The rain clattered on the windows and the whole of Bali shook with the terrible storm. We couldn't have predicted this in the morning, even feelings change just like the weather.
