"I'm too tired to get up" I groaned as I switched the channel back to Asia's next top model. True it was in Bahasa but I could still make out most of it.
My mom screamed again and I realized that no other way than to get up. My feet were swollen and I could walk with some difficulty.
After a lunch of, pizza again, a shuttle arrived to take us to a night safari.
After being to safaris in Dubai and America how could this be any different.
Turns out it was. For the first time in the whole trip there was actual vegetarian food! I ate too much and then went to check out the parakeets for the clicking pictures. Its claws stung my skin and my smile looked more pained then excited.
Then we started the safari, first the nocturnal animals and an elephant and an actual damn lioness outside their cage! Scary yet cool.
They performed a fire dance next which was quite nice and entertaining.
The last and most awaited part of the tour. Cage safari. Animals in cages and us looking? Plot twist, we're in the cage.
Along with two other families we piled into the cage. The guide friendly enough asked all of our nationalities. So Indian, Japanese and Australian set off to see some action.
First some zebras and elephants we could feed. The elephant trunk we could feel and it felt like course sandpaper.
"What is the mist efficient killer in Africa?" Our tour guides asked grinning. Everyone answered ranging in elephants to tigers. "Ebola" he answered promptly himself and proceeded to laugh. It did make sense I have to give him that.
The correct answer though was hippo, who would've guessed right?
At the last turn we saw a magnificent Bengal tiger, it climbed on the roof of the cage and everyone stood still in amazement. "Go on touch him" the guide urged. The younger kids dared and finally I climbed onto the rail, its either now it never, I touched a freaking tiger?!
Exhilaration filled me and adrenaline pumped through my veins. You truly do get something out of doing something new.
We took the shuttle back and I couldn't believe that this was going to end. The best part of my life was coming to an inevitable end.
