My uncle agreed that I'd stay with him before I got here so I'd grabbed my luggage and headed towards him. Liam followed closely behind. I huffed hoping this wouldn't be a normal thing.
"Tom, where is it I'll be staying." I needed to know his address so I could walk over there, and get unpacked.
"Oh, about that. You'll be staying with me, Niall."
"What?! No!" I didn't want to be living with him too, I could only imagine how annoying he'd be at his house.
"Niall, I'm sure you'd rather work as a teacher, then working in a restaurant, am I right or am I wrong?" I rolled my eyes and looked at Liam, he'd already annoying me so much.
"You're right." I grumbled. He smiled, clearly not being genuine, but I smiled back.
"Let's go, husband." He put emphasis on the last word, which made me roll my eyes. I started to pull my luggage before he stopped me. "I've got it, Niall."
"You don't have to."
"Would you just let me do it?" He snapped back, I was taken aback so I just shrugged. "I only live a few blocks away, so we'll walk."
"That's fine." I had a few questions I wanted to ask, but I didn't want to just start questioning everything about him so I kept quiet as we walked. Liam turned around and then muttered something under his breath. He stopped and stood in front of me before placing his free hand on my hip, he leaned closer to my ear. "Just go along with it." I felt myself starting to get nervous. I really shouldn't feel nervous though this was fake. Even though it was fake I started hoping my breathe didn't stink, and I also began to wonder why he was doing this.
"Mr. Payne." A gruff voice spoke out behind me, I pulled away looking at whoever the voice belonged to. There stood a tall man wearing a dressy outfit.
"Oh. Mr. Harries, how are you?" This guy was looking me up and down with a strange look on his face.
"I presume this is your husband?" Before Liam responded, I spoke up.
"Yeah, I'm Niall. Nice to meet you, sir." I held out my hand and we shared a hand shake.
"Niall, it's nice to finally meet you. I haven't heard much about you from Mr. Payne, but it's glad to see your, well real." He chuckled.
"It was nice seeing you, but Niall and I have things to do." Liam clearly was faking a smile.
"Like unpacking his bags? Were you on a trip, Niall?" I froze, I wasn't on a trip, I just moved here. I almost panicked unsure of what to say.
"Yeah, he was visiting his mum in Ireland. As you can tell he's Irish." Liam blankly responded, as the brunet guy stared at me looking at me as if he didn't believe us.
"Yeah, it was her birthday. Me and my brother both went to visit and had a great time." I smiled genially remembering her birthday. I hadn't been lying it was recent, and Greg had came to visit with his wife and son Theo, it was great having the whole family together.
"Why didn't you go with Mr. Payne?" He titled his head looking at Liam. I felt him freeze a bit as his hand was still on my hip, but his laugh warmly trickled down my neck.
"I don't plan on taking off for a holiday."
"But wouldn't you want to meet his mom?" Jesus, this guy was interrogating him, and I was actually ready to tell Liam let's give it up, but he responded.
"I met his mom, she's very understanding about this. Now if you'll excuse us, we'll be heading home now. Have a nice night, I'll see you tomorrow." Liam smiled at me sweetly making me blush, he then grabbed my hand as well as the luggage and we walked off. I kept quiet. I didn't want to turn around, that'd make me seem sketchy, and I also didn't want to question anything because that was clearly his boss and he might be eavesdropping. I felt different holding Liam's hand, normally I didn't feel so nervous yet excited at the same time. I couldn't possible falling for this jerk so quickly, could I?
