I get home and Niall has left. My stomach is full of butterflies and I can't stop thinking of tonight. How long has it been since I've eaten? I should probably make something for lunch. By the time I'm done making my bagel pizzas its two o'clock, so I sit down to watch TV and eat. Time seems to move slower than it ever has before. My eyes keep flicking back to my phone to see if Harry has texted me at all about tonight. Shit, he doesn't have my number does he? He is my neighbor; he can just walk over and knock on the door. Maybe I should get ready just in case he decides to do that? But what if I'm in the shower when he shows? The idea of Harry being in the same house as me while I'm naked causes my heart to skip. I blush at my own thoughts. I need to calm down. He'll get my number from Niall, he'll text me and we will go get dinner. Simple. Just relax.
A repeat of "Criminal Minds" play on the TV, and I watch to see if I notice any new hints this time. My phone begins to buzz, and shakes me out of slumber. I hadn't even realized that I had fallen asleep, but after all I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, and I still woke up pretty early. I grab my phone and my stomach flips at the words on the screen. "1 New Message." My mouth curves into a smile as I open the text and read it.
"Hey Abby, it's Harry. I was thinking I'd 'pick you up' around 7 tonight? :) You can pick the place, I don't really know whats good to eat around here."
"7 sounds great! Maybe we could go to The Red Parrot downtown?"
"Pirate bird restaurant it is, I'll see you at seven!" Harry's dorky text sends a smile across my face as I check the clock. 6 already? Now that I need time to slow down, it catches up to me.
I plug in my music and turn the volume to maximum. The beat of "What Now" by Rhianna courses through me and I find myself belting out the notes at the top of my lungs. I continue to flip through my music as I choose my outfit for tonight. The Red Parrot is a pretty casual place, but I also want to look decent. I decide on black leggings with a leather jacket and my Uggs. I lay the outfit on my bed and turn on my favorite playlist. I twist the knob to the shower, and the warm water invites me in. The music has me singing along and nodding my head with the beat while I wash my hair. I guess I will have to wear it curly tonight since I won't have the time it takes to straighten it. It's 6:30 when I get out of the shower, and I still have to wait 15 or so minutes for my hair to dry. If it's dripping down my back all night I will go absolutely insane. I'm ruffling my hair with a towel trying to dry it as "Love Club" by Lorde plays from my bedroom. This song always gives me the best feeling, an unexplainable feeling. I love how the beat courses through my bones and my body automatically sways along with the rhythm. I close my eyes and enjoy this stage of happiness as I listen to the lyrics. The song ends and I stand there for a moment, just absorbing the good feeling. When I open my eyes, the energy breaks and I am surprised at the sight of Niall standing in the doorway.
"Holy shit Niall!" I shout and he laughs.
"You enjoying yourself?" I roll my eyes and my cheeks burn. I wonder how long he's been standing there.
"Are you wearing your hair like that tonight?" Niall asks with a smile. My face grows even redder when I realize my catastrophic mop of hair is out in the open.
"I haven't seen those curls in a long time!" He smiles again and walks up to poke at my thick curly mess.
"Yeah, well don't get used to it. I just didn't have time to straighten it today." I turn around and head for the bathroom. I hope we still have hair gel left, I don't remember the last time I had to use it.
"Why are you even here?" I ask in a curious manner.
"I left my North Face, don't act like you forgot." He says.
