Tuesday morning. Only Tuesday and I can barely pull myself out of bed. I really need to work on getting more sleep. I go through the usual routine to get ready for school, and when I hop into Niall’s car, my heart nearly stops when I see Harry in the back.

“Good morning Abby.” He says with a dimpled smile. “You look beautiful.” My stomach flutters. Niall makes a snorting sound.

“Actually you got a little something right here..” He points down to my chest and when I look down to see what he’s pointing at he flicks me in the chin.

“Fuck you Niall.” He’s laughing hysterically. I laugh at his contagious laugh. When we get to school Niall walks toward the locker room, and Harry follows me toward the cafeteria.

“Why weren’t you in school yesterday?” I ask him, trying to ignore a girl gaping at him.

“I was.”

“I didn’t see you around, did you just explore?” I’m extremely confused. Our school isn’t big enough for me to have not seen him at least once.

“Yeah, explored. So can you help me out with my schedule?” He hands me a slip of paper with a list of room numbers on it. All advanced classes.

“Yeah, your schedule is pretty easy, science is over there, English over there, then you have art in the 900’s building, then lunch-”

“Abby.” I look up from the paper; he’s smiling at me.

“I’m not going to remember any of this.” He nervously laughs. It’s extremely cute.

I take another look at his classes. His second one is with Niall.

“Look, go to science that way,” I say, “Then ask the science teacher to tell you where English is. Niall has English and art with you so I’m sure he’ll help you up until lunch.

“Thanks.” He takes my hand and smiles as the final bell rings.

“See you later,” I turn to leave but his hand is still holding mine. He gently pulls me back to give me a peck on the forehead.

“Have a nice day beautiful.” He says, and heads toward science.

Throughout the day, I only see Harry once. Two periods after lunch while we were walking to next class he grabbed me from behind and spun me around. A couple of people gaped, most just continued to class.

“Fro-Yo after school?” He asked. I’d agreed. Now I’m sitting in Niall’s car waiting for the two of them to get their ass out here. I think about the school day. Harry didn’t seem to mind showing a bit of affection for me. And he didn’t even glance at other girls, at least not of my knowing. Once again I had over thought everything, but that still doesn’t explain to me why he thinks I’m so “beautiful.” I flip down the mirror in Niall’s car. I haven’t actually looked at myself in a while. Sure I glance to make sure I haven’t got food in my teeth or to check my outfit, but looking, that’s different. My eyes are brown, nothing special. My hair is straight, even though that’s not natural, but again nothing special. Looking at me as a whole, I guess I didn’t come out the most hideous thing in the world… but “Beautiful?” I don’t know about beautiful..

“Abby? How did you get in the car?” Niall walks up with Harry behind him. He notices the mirror down and smirks.

“Checkin yourself out?” He teases and I slam the mirror closed.

“Shut up Niall. And you should think about rolling your windows up all the way. It was way too easy to get in here.” It crosses my mind to ask why his windows are open in the middle of winter but I brush it off. I just want him to get in the car and take me home so Harry and I can get frozen yogurt. I figured we were goig to stop home and take Harry’s care, but instead Niall drops us off at the Frozen Yogurt shop. To me relief, this time its open. I get wedding cake and vanilla, careful not to take too much since Harry once again insisted on paying. He mixes a bunch of flavors and coats it with Candy toppings. It looks gross.

“How was your first official day at school?” I ask him as he shovels candy into his mouth. He’s like an adorable little boy.

“I got lost.” He says and I laugh.

“Aw where?”

“Couldn’t find my way to art.” He shrugs “Got there eventually though.”

“I thought Niall was going to help you?” I question.

“Yeah, he left before explaining the way, it’s not a big deal.” I make a mental note to yell at Niall later. What a douche move.

“Schools a weird place.” He says still not taking a break from his candy-coated snack.

“What do you mean?” I ask.

“Well, I was homeschooled by my Mom for a while, until middle school actually, so I didn’t leave the house much, and I only had 1 friend who later ended up moving.” I imagine little Harry lonely in his room and my heart breaks a little.

“Then when I started going to a real middle school, it was weird seeing how people socialized. So now, I’ll always have that little part of me that grew up alone without learning social skills and stuff, so sometimes school is weird. Seeing people who just know what’s ‘accepted’ and what’s not, what’s in or out. I don’t know if I could ever keep up with that.”

“It’s only been a day Harry.” I smile.

“I know.” He sighs and looks down at his empty container. “All the more reason that I’m gonna need another fro-yo.”
