Sam's POV

I sit at the top of a large waterfall, where water collects in a strange crystal clear pool. A small herd pachyrhinosaurs drink from the clear water. Two calves chasing each other.

I smile, the life of a young creature was always the best part of life. There weren't any worries, just pure freedom.

I wish I could go back to my childhood, when my mother was still alive. When we were a perfect family.

I look back at the sky, watching the wispy clouds float by. I close my eyes and remember the tour I did with Dustin last night. He wanted one in the trees, so he couldn't get eaten by the carnivores. Stupid didn't know there were killers in the trees too.

A smile comes to face. His horrified face was the highlight of my night when we accidentally ran into the tyrannosaur land.

Dustin looks over his shoulder for the thousandth time in the last half hour. His posture was stiff, like he was ready to make run for it if something came charging out of the brush.

"Will you calm the fuck down? Nothing is going to harm you! I'm here! You're such a baby," I mumbled under my breath.

"Calm down!? You want me to calm down!? How can I calm down when we were almost eaten alive by those poisonous dinosaurs?!" Dustin whisper shouts.

"Well if you don't try to calm down, then something that hunts by the amount of heat you're giving off, then you sure as hell will be eaten alive."

Dustin huffs in frustration. But then he groans and makes gagging sounds.

"What did you do this time?" I groan in frustration and exhaustion of having to deal with him.

"What did I just step in?" He asks in disgust.

I take out my flashlight and shine it on his feet, looking at what he had just stepped in.

"Great. You just had to step in the crap of a T-Rex. Just great." I say.

His eyes widen to size of a large dinner plate. "Please don't tell me we are close to that thing." He says quietly.

"Okay. We aren't anywhere close to it. In fact, it is not behind me, huffing at you." I say sarcastically.

The huffing behind me turns into a snort. Dustin looks at the giant head that carries plenty of teeth that will tear us into pieces. The head must've lifted because his head follows the motion.

I decide to turn around and look at the head. I smile at the giant head. "Hello there boy!" I shout.

The Rex just grunts and turns around. He leaves with more grunts. The footfalls leaving footsteps in the mud and vibrations in the ground.

I open my eyes from the memory. The crashing sounds of the waterfall, bring serenity to the cove. A small breeze blows by, carrying the sounds of peace from miles away.

Suddenly, the serenity is ruined when a loud roar is set off. The animals below, run off at the sign of danger.

I get up quickly, trying to understand what was happening, when another roar shakes beside me.
