Daniel's POV

"Nag. Nag, nag, nag, nag!" Ambers shouted in my ear.

"Shut it! You are annoying the hell out of me!" I shouted back. She then started saying how bad of a leader I would be and how much better she would be.

"I'd be such a better leader than you! Why did you have to be born first?! I would make the people happy!" She screamed.

"No! You wouldn't! You'd make the entire country bankrupt because all you want is to buy damned dresses! Or throw a worthless party! But not only that, but you would kill every single thing this world has to offer! We already had world wars! The world is in peace! You would just try to destroy the peace and freedom everyone worked for!"

"Enough!" A voice interrupted Ambers before she could get a word out.

We turn to my mother who has her ghost white arms crossed. Her dark brown eyes hold a cold stare, daring us to defy her.

"But mom! He..." Ambers started.

Which was a bad idea considering Ambers wasn't her favorite child and she was already pissed.

"Ambers! I said enough! What are you two arguing about this time!"

My mother, the queen, was a petite woman. About 5'4". Her long dark hair was up in a messy bun, her small frame dwarfed by the large baggy t-shirt she's wearing. The sweatpants brush against the ground indicating that they were too big for her skinny legs.

"Who would be a better leader," I mumble.

Mother rolls her eyes at the antics Ambers and I do. "Not this argument again. Ambers, knock it off. Your brother is the rightful heir, you know that. Plus he's right. You would corrupt the country."

"WHAT?!" Ambers screeches. Mother and I flinch back at the annoying sound.

It reminded me of that one time Sam had accidentally stepped on a rat. But I don't remember who squealed louder because when Sam stepped on it, she immediately jumped in my arms, screeching to call the guards to kill it.

"Knock it off, Ambers. Your grounded until the end of the year," Mother said annoyed.

Ambers huffed in anger and stomped off. When she had disappeared, I looked at mother and burst out laughing. She soon followed.

After we sobered up, I took my mom in my arms and hugged her. "Thanks, mom."

"No problem, sweetie. Why were you even hanging out with her anyway?!" Mom asked incredulously.

"Sam wasn't available and it was my time off," I sigh, my mood instantly dropping.

"She wasn't available? That didn't stop you from trying to find her before! In fact, even when you guys were three, if you couldn't find Sam, you would sneak out and go to her house! Even then you were a little genius."

"Mom, that's because then, she wasn't hard to find. She didn't train like a maniac. Even if she did have tracker in right now, I wouldn't be able to find her because she recently learned how to disable those."

"Even if she has one implanted?!"

"Yep. She could make it seem like she was at home when she really isn't."

"You got a rebel girl on your hands. Good luck trying to keep her from getting on that battlefield when you two are older." Mom pats my chest walks off, laughing.
