It is extremely strange to sleep in a house that you have never been in before.

I had a total of three hours of sleep that night. As I push myself out of bed, I try my best to avoid the mirrors, for the fear of seeing what a mess that I am.

When I finally do steal myself a glance I can't help but notice the dark bags under my eyes. Well how am I supposed to explain myself when I come down to breakfast looking like I have been to the underworld and back.

Or I could skip breakfast altogether. No the safer idea would probably be to go down otherwise they will send somebody up for me.

It is at that moment that I hear a knock the door and then Eleanor poking her head in. When she sees me she rushes to help get me ready. I had quite forgotten that now I am required to have help getting dressed. How complicated this new life is.

I sigh and let her get me ready. What harm could it do? When I am finally ready to go downstairs I hesitate. Why would they want me with them? A small voice at the back of my head whispers that I am a part of their family, of course they want me with them. I push the voice out of ears range.

Though that is completely ridiculous considering that a voice can't be out of ear's range when it is in your mind. Meaning....... "Miss, is everything all right?" Eleanor asks me, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turn to look at her "Yes thank you for asking." she turns to walk away before another thought comes to my mind "Oh and Eleanor....." I call after her. She turns to face me, one of her eyebrows raised. "Yes Miss?" I smile at her and continue my sentence "Just call me Cindy"

It is only Mrs. Wilson and I at breakfast. She seemed completely in a different world though so I sat there eating my scrambled eggs and freshly squeezed orange juice.

I can't say that I wasn't a little happy that Mrs. Wilson wasn't talking to me. I had my world of my own that needed caring of. I was thinking innocently on. The topic of preparing carrots when Mrs. Wilson interrupted my train of thoughts.

"Now dear, I don't mean for you to take any offence towards this but I realized that you are in need of some new clothes." I moved to object but she silenced me before I could get words out of my mouth. "Now don't say that you don't. I insist on getting you some new ones. Besides the one pair of skirts that you are wearing have been out of date for almost a year!"

I couldn't object to that.

I finally give in while she gives a triumphant squel. "Well we leave in a half of an hour so make sure that you are ready by then.' she finishes before getting up to get ready.

The shop that Mrs. Wilson has chosen is filled with colourful skirts and petticoats. And to be frank I couldn?t afford half of these things.

Where else I have never been one to be excited by clothes, Mrs. Wilson is like a tornado of skirts. Within the space of ten minutes she has about five different dresses for me to try on.

With little eagerness I walk over to the changing stall to try them on.

The first one to be frank looked hideous on me. Let's make this clear, if there is any colour that did not look good on me it was pale pink.

The second wasn't half that bad. Mrs. Wilson's comments includes such like "Oh darling you look absolute dashing!" and "Oh the men will swoon!"

My the end of the little spree I walked out with four new dresses. I had tried to convince Mrs. Wilson to let me pay but she wouldn't let me. Instead she went off with a short "Balderwash I dragged you along so I get to pay."

Tea was at four and Adeline graced us with her presence. Mrs. Wilson rattled the whole time about the new skirts while all I could do was sit there fiddling with my hands while trying not to look up in hope that no one would see me embarrassed.

Adeline arches an eyebrow at me and I can't help but look up.
