Zeus pulled on the leash as we made our way to the park. "Zeusy pup please don't pull me! I don't weigh enough for you to do that!", I laughed. Jeremy smiled at me before going back to texting someone. He probably already has a new boyfriend. I must meet this one! "Hey Jeremy?", I asked.
"Yes Alex?", he answered.
"Can I meet your new boyfriend?", I quickly asked. He looked at me with a shocked expression on his face.
"How did you know I got a new one????", he questioned.
"Well you're always on your phone now and you're all smiley again. Also you always have this look on your face like you're twitterpatted.", I answered with confidence.
"God you're such a Disney fan!", he laughed, "but yes you can meet my boyfriend. How about tomorrow night? He can come over for dinner.", he chuckled.
"That sounds good. Also, I am a HUGE Disney fan! Never forget that!", I stated proudly. He just laughed at me. We reached a bench and decided it would be a good time to rest. Just as I sat down, Zeus laid on my lap. "Zeus you're such a big baby!", I laughed. I began to scratch his head as Jeremy smiled at us. He knew how close we were. I've known this dog since he was a puppy. Well, a smaller puppy at least. Zeus got off of me and started growling. I was gonna calm him down, but before I could I heard a familiar voice.
"So I'm guessing you two are back together? That's nice. I guess I was wrong when I thought you liked me.", Zeke mumbled. I quickly grabbed Zeus' collar and held him back.
"It's not what you thi-"
"Shut the hell up Jeremy", Zeke growled as he cut Jeremy off.
"Please just listen Zeke.", I pleaded.
"No I don't want to hear it! I don't want to hear anymore of your lies! I was so stupid to think you'd like me! Maybe we shouldn't be friends anymore! Maybe-"
"Will you stop and listen to me! How could you not notice that I do love you! Jeremy is gay! He likes men! He's like a brother to me! Him and his mom take care of me! They treat me like I'm a part of the family! There is nothing going on between us!", I shouted as I felt tears building up. I didn't want to cry in front of him again so I shoved Zeus' collar into Jeremy's hand and ran. I let the tears stream down my face as I ran towards Jeremy's house. When I arrived I ran inside and slammed the door shut. I walked into the bathroom and locked the door as I sat down on the floor. The sobbing went on for what felt like forever. "Why did it have to be me? Why does this always happens to me?!", I sobbed. Eventually I stopped crying. Only because I ran out of tears. I held the counter as I shakily stood up. I looked in the mirror and immediately regretted it. My eyes were red and puffy while my hair looked like a tornado went through it. "God you're so ugly. That's why he would never want you. Now he hates you.", I angrily whispered as I turned around and punched the wall. My hand went into the wall. When I pulled it back out it was shredded and covered in blood. I turned on the faucet and held my hand under the cold water. Then, I got into the cabinet and pulled out some bandages. When I finished, I took one last look in the mirror. My eyes were no longer red and puffy. They looked dead and dull now. I smiled sadly and walked out of the bathroom. I sat down on the couch and pulled out my phone to text Jeremy. When I turned it on, I saw I had a message from Zeke.
Please come to my house tonight. I really need to talk to you. Please.
I stared at my phone for a few minutes. I was contemplating going or not. I was about to say no when I heard the front door open. I looked up to see Jeremy walk in with Zeus.
"Did you get the text from Zeke?", he asked.
"Yes. How did you know I would get one?", I asked as I narrowed my eyes at him.
"It was my idea. You should go. After we talk about what happened to your hand.", he stated. I looked down at my bandaged hand.
"I got angry and punched the bathroom wall. I'll fix it tomorrow though I promise.", I quickly said. He only nodded and walked towards his room. I sat there for a few more minutes before answering Zeke.
Fine I'll come over. I'll be there in about 30 minutes.
After sending it I went into the bathroom to quickly fix my hair. Then, I grabbed my bag and walked out the door.
