"Mom! What are you doing here?!" I stood shocked as my mother pushed past me into my apartment.
"What the hell happened to stay in touch? A call at least once a week?" My mom walked around.
"That's your mother?" Sean asked quietly.
"Yes. Oh Sean hi." I turned to Sean smiling.
"Hi." He smiled.
"Don't freak out if she asks you a very personal embarrassing question." I looked at him then my mom.
"Oh. Um okay." Sean chuckled as I sighed.
"Danielle look at this mess! You can't even see the floor! All this garbage!" My mom yelled from my room.
"That garbage is call empty coffee cups, water bottles and clothes! Get out of my room woman!" I called walking into the living room followed by Sean who closed the door.
"This is disgusting!" Mom stormed out to the kitchen.
"Mom!" I sighed following her.
"What is this?! You have barely any food in your apartment! Danielle I raised you better!" Mom turned to me.
"I eat at work! Or Haden and I order a pizza! I'm barely home so why let food rot in the fridge?! This is my place! If I want it a mess that's how it's going to be! You can't just intrude when you please! And I would have called if I wasn't pulling double shifts or working two jobs so I can pay my bills!" I raised my voice earning shocked looks from everyone.
"Dani, chill. Breathe." Haden stood up.
"I'm sorry mom. It's just you tend to fly in and try to take over my life. I moved out so I could be the independent woman you taught me to be. I have a job, I'm healthy, I have a place to live." I sighed.
"And what about a friend besides Haden?" Mom places a hand in her hip.
"Hey!" Haden acted hurt.
"I have Sean, Gabriel, Max, Lexi. And I still talk to some friends back home." I rolled my eyes.
"Fine. It seems your doing okay. My flight isn't until tomorrow morning. I'll be back in two hours with your brother. He missed you." Mom smiled before leaving.
"Well then. That was weird?" Sean smiled awkwardly.
"I'm sorry. Can we just drink and play a game?" I walked over to couch and grabbed a controller.
We all played Call Of Duty Black Ops and drank. When my mom came back she made Haden and Sean leave before making me go to bed. The next morning I didn't wake up until around nine. I stared at my alarm clock for a minute. Then it hit me.
"Son of a bitch!" I yelled jumping out of bed and rushing around.
"Dan no cursing!" My brother called.
"Suck it! I'm late for work!" I called back putting my converse on and walking out to the kitchen.
"Call in. Cough cough you're sick." My brother smiled.
"No. I'm not Angel. Don't destroy my apartment! Love you! Later!" I called grabbing my bag and sweater before rushing out the door.
I ran down the stairs as fast as I could. When I got to work my boss called me into his office. He sat down and gestured for me to sit. I sat across from him nervously. He sighed and looked at me.
"Danielle you're late. For the sixth time this month. And it's only the twentieth." He stated.
"I know sir. I'm so sorry my brother and mom just flew over to visit and it was really screwed up last night. It won't happen again." I sighed.
"I know it won't. Because I'm letting you go. I apologize but I have no choice." He looked at me with a blank look.
