The sounds of laughter echoes through Maya's mind. Can she get rid of them? No. She tries and tries, but nothing. It's like every corner she turns theres always gotta be something. Something like the laughter inside her mind.

There's a rumor. A rumor spreading quickly like a wild fire. They whisper about the new kid. Everyone knows. Maya doesn't want to believe the things they say about her. About the new girl. Chai. She knows about her. She knows what she's done.

Walking along the sidewalk of the park a flash of brown makes her stop. She turns to see the girl that captured her heart. The girl who still has her heart. Not just that, but her best friend, Riley Matthews. Except she's not alone; she's with Chai. Holding hands.

Maya wasn't surprised, but it wasn't what she wanted to believe. However, she wonders if Riley does the things with Chai like she did with her. The things Maya and Riley did. Their moments were unforgettable.

They walked hand in hand, smiling and laughing. Riley was going on about which ride they'd go on first. Maya simply listened and stared at the bubbly girl. Riley always seemed to have something to talk about. She never seemed to run out of anything. It didn't seem to bother Maya though. Actually everything Riley did never bothered her.

"We could go on the Ferris wheel last, even if it's super cliché. Just you and me...." Riley continued on and Maya just giggled at the rambling girl.

"What?" Riley asks noticing the blonde giggling.

Maya shook her head. "Nothing. You're just cute. Really cute."

Riley blushed and buried her face in the crook of Maya's neck.

"You're too good for me...."

Though that's not really what's on her mind. What she was thinking was something different. Something that makes her stomach churn every time she thinks about it.

Does Chai love Riley like Maya did/still does? Can she love Riley the way Maya can/could?

"Why do you that?" Riley asks. Maya gives her a questioning look. "Do what?"

"You do so much for me such as randomly complimenting me, surprise dates, gifts. I always feel bad because I try to do as much as I can to do the same for you. I never can though."

Maya chuckles a bit taking a glance at the ground. She had reasons why. So many reasons. Only one was what really kept her going.

"Riley, I do those things for you because you deserve to be loved so overly much. You deserve to be loved so amazingly. I know it doesn't make sense, neither does love. This is the way I love you and the way I show you."

She watches them close. She watches Riley talk and talk to Chai, using her free hand to help show the image she's making. She watches Chai listen very deeply to Riley and admire what she says. They seemed to have mapped out a plan of some sort as if they were going somewhere. Together. Alone.

Maya also questions if Riley forgot the plans that she made with her. They had many ideas of what they wanted to do. They had many places the wanted to go. So many plans...all drained away.

Laying in the grass the look up at the clouds. Riley had pointed out many that formed different types of shapes, people, animals, etc. She then found one that really caught her eye.
