Nate's POV

I look over at sleeping Adalyn. She looks so safe, why would he hurt her. I feel tears start to prickle my eyes and a few tears escape but I quickly wipe them away. I press my lips to her temple. "I love you." I say into her ear. I feel like she can here me cause a small smile comes on her face.  I lay back down on her bed. I hear the door shut and muffled voices from downstairs. I can't make out what there saying at all. When I get back to school I don't give a fuck if I get suspended I'm going to beat up Daniel he's a jerk for doing this. I play with her hair. I guess i must have fell asleep because I feel someone keep hitting my foot. I open one eye and look around, I see Mr.Parker standing there nudging me foot with his leg. Adalyn is still passed out. Who could blame her though.

"What's this?" He asks me. "She wanted me to sleep with her to feel safe." I tell him. "Okay don't get handsy." He says. I chuckle lightly. "I won't" I say with a slight smirk. He rolls his eyes before leaving and he leaves the door slightly ajar. "Who was that?" Adalyn asks me. Her voice is soft and raspy. "Your Dad, he wanted to make sure I didn't pull anything." I say before putting my hands behind my head and leaning back on the headboard. She chuckles. "I know you won't. Can you make me something to eat, I'm starving." I shake my head and chuckle. "Of course you do, I think the first thing that pops into your mind if food." I say before getting up. She smiles. "Why wouldn't it?" She sits up and grabs her crutches. "I can bring it up here you know." I tell her as she slowly stands. "I know, I just want to walk a little bit." I nod.

I have to help her a little bit down the stairs but crutches weren't really made to do that. "Hey Dad." She says as she sits down on the couch next to him. "What do you guys want to eat?" I ask them. "Why don't we order from that Italian place?" Mr.Parker says. "Sounds good to me." Adalyn says. "Write down what you want and I'll go pick it up." I say after we decide want we want I head to the restaurant in town to place the order.

Adalyn's POV

"Did Nikki and McKenna ever come home?" I ask my Dad. "Yeah you were sleeping so they went up to there rooms." I nod before grabbing the remote and turning on Netflix. My Dad groans. I laugh. "What?" I ask him. "Please don't do a Disney movie marathon again." I stick my tongue out at him. "Fine, I'll put on a different movie." I put on the movie the movie The Outfield. Who doesn't want to watch Cameron Dallas. About 30 minutes into the movie, McKenna and Nikki come downstairs. "Your watching this movie without us?" Nikki asks. I laugh. "Sorry, didn't know it was a crime." I say. "They guy that plays Jack kinda looks like Nash." McKenna points out. "Shut up no he doesn't." Nikki says before throwing a pillow at McKenna. I laugh. They glare at me and look like there about ready to pelt me with pillows but I put my hand out. "I'm injured." I say. "Your Dad told us what happened what do you have broken." McKenna asks me. "2 or 3 ribs and ankle." I say. "I'm sorry we should have been here and not have gone to that party a Nash's house last night." I shake my head. "No becuase he could have hurt you guys too and you 2 are my best friends well more like sisters and I don't want either one of you getting hurt."

A few minutes later Nate walks in with the food. "You could have told me I had to get more food." He says as he puts the food from the restaurant on the table. "It's fine I have fruit in here I can eat." McKenna says. "Yep and I have leftover pizza so bitch take that." I laugh at there goofiness. "Some friends you have." Nate says as he brings my food over to me. I can smell the chicken alfredo. I quickly take a bite. "What you guys watching?" Nate asks as he sits down beside me. "The Outfield, about these baseball players. they watch this movie all the time." "Not true." Me, Nikki and McKenna say at the same time. He shakes his head and rolls his eyes at us. After we finish eating Nate decides to leave again. "I'll be right back." Nate says. "Where you going?" I ask him. "I have to do a little shopping for my parents while there out of town." He tells me. I nod. "Okay, love you." I tell him. "Love you too."
