She felt herself gag at the thought of actually caring about Dave Franco, cursing her brain for allowing such a comment. She walked down the hall, entering the bathroom on the right before closing the door behind her. She turned around, meeting her own face staring back at her in the mirror. She noticed the deep bags under her eyes, the ungroomed blonde mass of hair, her oversized t-shirt hanging loosely over her frame, finishing just below her nicker line and covered in creases. "C'mon Scarlett," she spoke to the figure in the mirror. "At least do something with the hair."
"Scarlett, honey, what took you so long. I only have 3 hours before the meeting and in that time I have to pick up the dry-cleaning from Anne's, have Rob clean up my eyebrows, take my dress to the seamstress so that it gets done intime for the ball, and try on Melanie's shoes she has offered to loan me for the big night."
"You're going to wear someone else's shoes to the 'Jack & Ninster' company ball?" Scarlett knew what her mum was trying to do.
"Oh of course not sweetie. I would not be caught dead wearing someone else's shoes, especially on the evening in which I may be promoted to CEO of the most prestigious company in this town. But, Melanie is one of the most influential in the business, so when she offered of course I said I would love to, asking if it was ok if I could try them first to see if they fit. Over the past two days I have been eating carbs non-stop so that my feet will swell up, meaning i'll have to deny the honour of wearing such gorgeous shoes. Besides, I already have the perfect pair sitting in a gold box on the top right hand side of my wardrobe."
That sounded more like it.
"But that's enough talking. We must go and drop into the new neighbours immediately. My errands are all ready cutting it fine as it is, and I just know that Melanie will want to sit down and have a chat for three-quarters of an hour." Scarlett's mom gave her a quick side glance, as if waiting for her to contribute to the conversation.
This was Scarlett's queue. "Mom, why don't I pick up the dry-cleaning and take your dress to the seamstress?"
"Oh no darling, I would never want you to spend your time on a Saturday doing such boring activities."
It was the same each time. Sometimes Scarlett wished she didn't say anything, just let her Mom fret about her lack of reply. However, she new she would face the wrath of her Mom's 'exhaust' later that night, so instead she let her off the hook, allowing her an extra hour in which she could pay a visit to the masseuse. "Mom, seriously, I don't mind. I didn't have any plans for today anyway."
"Darling, have I ever told you how much I appreciate you for doing things like this? Anyway, let's quickly drop in next door." Scarlett's Mom hurried to the door, before turning around to say, "come on, I haven't got all day." Although Scarlett knew that she now did.
"Davey, I think there is someone at the door." Dave heard his Grandma call from kitchen where she was sat baking his favourite scones.
"Alright Grams, I'll get it." He walked with pace to the door, before looking through the peephole to see who he would be confronted with. He saw an unfamiliar face, touched up with evident botox and an unreasonable amount of makeup, with a pair of pearls laying flat around her neck. This should be good, he though to himself. He opened the door after only delaying it a few seconds before she stuck her hand out, introducing herself as Geninne. He shook her hand, before noticing her Grandma's presence behind him. He moved to the side, allowing her to introduce herself, telling the woman to call her Grams, as that is what everyone else called her. There was a momentary look of disgust on the woman's face, before she smiled and motioned to the side. From a position out of Dave's vision she appeared. He couldn't believe it. Standing in front of him was none other than Scarlett Anderson.
Authors Note: Hi Guys, I hope you are enjoying the fanfic. I know the last two chapters have been quite short, but I feel like they fit well as chapters, and if anything else were to be introduced into the chapter it wouldn't be as compelling. I am writing as much as I can today, so I will be able to upload the next chapter much sooner than the time has been between the others. Please leave comments below if you are enjoying it, and let me know if you have anything you would like to see in the future with Dave and Scarlett. Thank you again!! Xx
