Timeline 1938
Nina busied herself behind the counter of the diner she worked in. The day had been slow and quiet.
She hummed a song to herself as she cleaned the counter and the empty tables, she needed something to do otherwise she was going to go crazy with boredom.
She was just cleaning the last empty table when the door chimed signaling that someone had entered.
The man was standing at the counter with his back to her, she walked around the counter and put on her best smile. "Hi, I'm Nina, welcome to Macey's what can I get you today?"
The man turned to face her and she was met the most stunning man she had ever seen. He had a sharp jaw, a pointed nose, and the most beautiful crystal blue eyes, his dark hair was slicked back and his mouth was curved up into a crooked, friendly smile. To say he was just handsome would be a joke, this man looked like he had been sculpted by Gods.
The man ordered his food and thanked her when she brought it over to him. He seemed like a simple man, he only ordered a coffee with some fries and a burger. She felt her heart pounding against her chest as he got up to leave after leaving money for the bill on the table. "Well Nina, it was very nice to meet you tonight and thank you for the food it was delicious. Maybe I'll see you again sometime."
He left without even telling her his name, she knew it was stupid to be upset about it.
There was always so many faces that came in and out of the diner every day that she barely remembered a single one, but his face, his face she would definitely remember.
Would she ever see him again?
