Lesley's POV

I really felt as though I should be doing something.

Should I pass by and say hello?

Maybe bring over some cookies? Gosh I couldn't even bake. That was Nara's specialty.

What about a sympathy card and a bouquet of flowers?

I just really felt as though I should be doing something to make The Vaughn's know that I am constantly thinking of them and praying for them.

I might have lost a friend, but those people lost their only child. Gosh why did Alyssa have to go like that.

On the seven o' clock news last night not much details we revealed to the general public. We just knew what the police wanted us to know. The reports said that there had been signs of a struggle and large amounts of water were found in her system probably from the pond itself. Then it seems as though she was thrown in the pond just like that.

It was strange to know that the pond you grew up seeing and visiting on a regular basis and recognized as a local landmark was now the murder scene of one of the area's young residents.

Alyssa and I had lived in Lemon Arbour all our lives. We went to the same primary school together and when we were the only girls from our class to pass to Belmont we instantly became friends.

BSS was one of the top three secondary schools in the Island. Since first form, Alyssa's mum would gladly take us to school. However, at the beginning of sixth form we decided to take the bus for a change and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Instead of diving further into my nostalgia I lifted myself out the pool and onto the deck. I wrapped myself properly in my army green beach towel and I entered the house through the large, translucent back doors.

When I entered the brown themed living room of our home I saw my little sister, Ria playing with my cat Peaches on the wide, soft, mat my mother had the coffee table placed on.

"Ria, you know that mat is mother's pride and joy, why don't you play with her elsewhere?" I questioned her sarcastically.

"Oh please Les, what she does not know will not give her a heart attack." She replied cheekily massaging the mocha coloured fur.

I just dismissed her with a wave and made my way upstairs. These tweens were too much to handle on a usual basis. Today was not the day for me to deal with her.

"What are you doing in my room Jordan?" I asked my brother calmly as I came and found him in the mint interior. I am going to give him thirty seconds before I slap him.

One....Five....Ten....Fifteen

"Relax Lesley, I do not want to see any of what you teenage girls do.I just want to find the bag of marbles mum took away."

"I am sure she took them away for a good reason, but they are not in here. Ask your twin where they are then leave before I knock you out."

"Fine, I'll go and ask Xavi for them. You are so serious sometimes. Gosh. Lighten up."

"Much thanks." I replied dryly before closing my door and locking it behind me. It's time I got out this wet suit and changed into clothes so I could go for a much needed jog.

I quickly put on my black Nike leggings and sneakers. When I turned around to look in the mirror I saw the purple-blue tinged bruise on my ribs looking right back at me. Although I only touched it lightly I still winced at the pain I felt. I had been taking some pain killers recently, but the spot still hurt.
