Nara's POV

I swore my middle name was clumsy.

"Oh shoot Nara, I'm so sorry let me pick those up for you." Shane said eagerly as he dropped to the floor immediately to pick up the files I received from the principal's office.

The meeting with the guidance counselor had just ended and I hoped I would never have to attend another one. It was the first time in a couple  days since I had seen Coven,Mela and Lesley. They tried to apologize for making me sick, but I told them not to worry. Afterall, I was alive.

"Really, it's fine. I bumped into you." I said as I stooped down to pick up my stuff off the ground.

Shane Barrow was in my French and Spanish classes. He was a really smart boy, but that's what made him a victim of bullying initially. We actually became friends as a result. When no one wanted to pair up with him in third form because he was considered a nerd, a wierdo and his glasses resembled cartwheels. Acne was not on his side either. I honestly felt bad and volunteered. Ever since we've made a great team and topped our classes together.

After collecting everything off the ground he looked at me,pushed up his glasses and smiled.

"So Nara, how come you were heading in the opposite direction? It's third period. We're supposed to have Señora Batson right now."

"Yeah, I know, the principal gave my friends and I a pass to go home early, so I am just heading out to meet my dad."

I quickly glanced out by the car park and saw the white Benz parked under the shade of the tall, palm trees.

Shane looked slightly confused at the aforesaid, so I began to explain.

"You know with what happened to Alyssa and stuff." I said quietly and slowly.

"Oh right, obviously that would be hard for you guys. Sorry for your lost Nara." He responded with a new understanding.

I smiled and thanked him. Not only for helping me gather the papers off the ground, but for his sympathy.

You see, Alyssa was one of the reasons Shane used to be bullied. Apparently, he liked her and she thought of it as a disgrace. Alyssa was tall, gorgeous and admired in such a way that made testosterone levels rise. That gave her a reason to embarrass him in front of everyone. After what happened, it was no secret that he disliked her immensely for that. It must have been quite hurtful.

"It looks as though the rain is setting up again." Shane said looking up to the sky then down meeting my eyes, "You want me to take you to your dad's car?" came an offer.

"No, it's good. I will hopefully make it before the downpour. Thanks though."

Shane looked slightly sad that I didn't accept, but I wouldn't want my partner in verb conjugations to be late for class. Señora Batson was nice, but she certainly did not appreciate tardiness!

"Okay, well bye Nara. Hasta luego."

"İAdiós, mi amigo, hasta pronto!" I replied fluently before turning around and heading towards the car park.

As I reached the car and was about to get in, I glanced back seeing that Shane had not moved yet. With one last wave I opened the door and got in closing it behind me surrounded by the A.C.

"Nara, is there anything I have to sign before we leave?" my dad asked looking up from the Nation newspaper.

"Nope, since you got an official call then we're good to go." I answered glancing the cover page of the newspaper. 'Young Teen Found Dead' read the headline in bold, red ink.
