The next night, I come home after a long day. It's roughly 1 AM. I look at my apartment it's emptiness standing out to me. First I changed into sweatpants and a tank top and began making food. I'm starving, I haven't eaten since lunch. This whole town seems like it's gone crazy.

In the middle of cooking, I realized how quiet it was. My pet hadn't made its appearance or even a single noise since I got here. I looked at the cage I usually have to put him in and he's gone. I swear I put him inside.

I did the only thing I could think of, I called Agent Smith. After two rings he picked up.

"Hello?" He says in a curious tone, I'm surprised he's even awake.

"Hi, Agent Smith. This is-" I started but he cut me off.

"(Y/N)? Are you okay?" He asks with concern evident.

"Well you told me to call if anything weird is happening and I know it's almost 2 AM but-" again he cut me off.

"It doesn't matter what time it is, what's happening?" He asks, trying to hurry me along.

"I'm sorry it's just my (dog/cat) is missing, and I know I put him in the cage." I said, I could hear his sigh on the other end, "And it's just so silent here. Like more than usual, usually in hearing sirens from the street but nothing! It's like I'm being cut off, and-" that's when I noticed my breath. It was so cold.

"What is it?" Smith asked.

"My breath." I said, he knew instantly.

"I'm on my way." He said.

"Wait! But what can I do until then?" I asked, panicking towards the door.

"I'm a lot closer than you think." Smith answered. "Just get outside if you can."

"Okay." I didn't have time to question anything, I jiggled my handle. But it was locked. "It's locked!" I kept switching the inside locks but nothing was working. I sniffed, I smelled gas from my stove top.

"Can you unlock it?" He asked.

"Oh of course! Why didn't I think of that?" I said sarcastically, I get sarcastic when I'm stressed, "Of course I tried that, Smith, I can't get the door to budge. And it smells like gas. I don't know what to do!"

That's when I saw it. It was clear as day, hunched over on my kitchen table. It was a man, he looked scattered and torn. For a moment I felt horrible for him. But he must've known because he tilted his head completely around while smiling at me.

"I see him." I whispered. That's when the man started laughing at me frantically. He showed up right in front of me and grabbed my phone and crushed it. He grabbed me by neck and held me against the wall.

"It's okay, it's okay. I'm on the other side, I'm going to get you out of there. Stand away from the door." He ordered.

When I didn't answer he shot at the door. Eventually he was able to kick open a hole in the door.

"(Y/N)! Hang on, alright!" He took the last blow at the door and the giant man was able to walk in.

It's not like I have a choice.

The cold hand that held me stared only at me, it was like he didn't care at all for this other man in my room. He seemed so real. I could touch him. I could feel him. I started to wonder if this was even a ghost.

But I didn't have much time to think. Smith shot at it and the bullets somehow blew the ghost away. Smith grabbed my hand to hurry me out of the room.

"What was that?!" I asked, gasping for air as he practically carried me down the stairs.

"I'll explain once we get the hell out of here, cause he'll come back." Smith explained.

Once we left the apartment building I shut the gate behind me. When I did a ghostly had grabbed tight around my wrist, then another grabbed at my neck. I stared into his crazy eyes until Smith was able to shoot him again.

"Come on." He said, walking with me. I couldn't help it, I was so afraid I teared up.

Once we were far enough away from the building I had to ask: "What was that?"

"Did you recognize it at all? Did it look like anyone you know?" Smith asked me, he walked me over to a car, holding the small of my back. It was black, I don't really know much about cars.

"No, I've never seen anyone like that. But, it was so real. I thought ghosts walked through you, not this whole coming to strangle you thing?" I said, grabbing my neck. It was so painful, I could feel the bruising already begun.

"Damn it. Alright, come on." He held the back door open for me.

"You can't be serious right?" I looked up at him, crossing my arms

"Would you rather stay with that thing or come with us, sweet heart?" Hendrix was sitting from the drivers seat.

I looked back at the building then at the two men in front of me. I could tell these guys' weren't FBI, I've worked with them before and I've never had them successfully fend off ghosts. Finally I clenched my jaw and just sat in the car.

The car was silent for a while as we drove.

"You aren't really FBI, are you?" I got the courage to ask the elephant in the room.

"Can you tell?" Smith smiled, I liked looking at his dimples.

"Most Feds don't wear flannels and khakis when they're on duty. Nor do they usually go out catching demons." I pointed out, "Also, you don't really look like a Smith."

"Not exactly." Hendrix said, "Look kid, I'm Dean, this is my brother Sam. And whatever it was you two saw back there, we've been hunting it."

"Hunting it? Like Ghostbusters?" I asked, the whole idea seems very odd.

"Something like that." Sam chuckled, "We're taking you to a safe place. We're gunna make sure this thing doesn't hurt anyone else."

I looked between the two and sat back. Usually I'd have to report it, but they did just save my life. I saw the thing with my eyes, I felt it's grimy hands on my neck. If they can help me, I know I should let them.

Soon after we pulled into a motel. Sam opened the door for me again and I got out.

"This is the safe place?" I asked, shocked to see it was a public place. I was expecting a cabin in the woods kind of deal.

"Sorry it's not the Hilton." Dean mumbled to himself.

"Well when you said ghost safe place I just thought it would be more brutal, you know like iron doors and walls or something?" I mentioned.

"We have a different place like that but for now we'll have to settle for this." Sam said, my eyes widened when he said they did have a place like that, "Believe me, any place with us is probably better for you than in your apartment alone."

"I hope so."
