"Come on, Alice! Please come to the party tonight," my best friend Tess begged. She hasn't shut up about this party for the past week.
"I don't know Tess. I have a really bad feeling about this." And I do have a bad feeling. Something in the back of my head says I should not go to Tate's party tonight.
"Honestly, Alice.... What could possibly happen?"
"Fine, I'll go. I'll be at you place by 6:30 tonight to pick you up. Goodbye, Tess."
"YAY!!!! Alright, see you in a few hours! Bye!" *click* Wow she actually hung up for once.
Setting my phone on my desk, I look in my mirror then up at my clock. It's roughly 4:30. I have two hours to get ready. Pssh. That's loads of time, may as well get something to eat. I walk a few step to the small kitchen. 'Hm, what is Alice going to eat? Not something that requires a lot of cooking. Ain't nobody got time for that!' I scared myself when I laughed out loud at the voice in my head. I open the fridge and get shot down instantly. I forgot, no money means no food. Sigh. I turn to the left walking only 10 feet to my bed.
For the past few months things have been really hard. Some things had to go. In this case it's the food. When my mom died a few days after my 17th birthday I was forced to get a job and take care of myself. My dad died when I was a baby and I never met any of my family. If it wasn't for Tate I wouldn't be eating at all. I go to school full time and work two part time jobs. This small apartment is all I can afford on top of my truck insurance and school fees. My school thinks I am living with my Aunt.

With 10 minutes to spare I reach Tess's house to pick her up for tonight. This time I dressed in some leggings and a semi nice top. Nothing too fancy. But as I learned last time, when there is alcohol involved wear your hair up and no dresses. Oh, and wear flats, never heals.
Tess sees me pull up and hops in my truck as soon as I get there and we head to Tate's house. When we get there the party has already started. As I step out of my truck locking the door a nervous feeling shoots through me. I shouldn't be here. Oh well, it's too late for that. When we enter Tate's house his dad is standing at the door taking vehicle keys.
"Oh, hello again, Alice. How nice to see you," he greets as I hand him my keys.
Tate's parents let him have parties at their huge lake house as long as everyone hands their keys to his dad upon joining the party. Everyone agrees to this because two years ago four teens were killed in a drunk driving accident on the highway back to town.
"Alice! Alice, over here!" As always Tess is calling my name because someone told her a funny story and I "just have to hear it".
I wave at her and walk the other way to go find a drink. Walking down the hall there are a few guys fighting. I look down at my feet and keep walking down the hall and turning at the kitchen. On the island in the middle of the kitchen is all the alcohol.
"Here, Alice. I already made you a drink. Your favorite starter drink," Tate says handing me a drink in a red platic cup that he just finished pouring. Taking a sip already knowing what it is. Rum and coke. Half and half. Perfect.
"Thanks, Tatey."
"Alice, what have I said about calling me that?"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize your opinion mattered." I give him a slight nudge to the shoulder and laugh.
"You, Miss Alice Maria Green, are a hopeless flirt."
"Oh, shut up Tate. I ain't drunk enough for that yet."
"Well, drink up darling, because tonight will change your life."
I laugh. "Oh, am I going to win the lottery?" I walk away drinking some more.
The drinks just keep coming. 2, 3, 4...... I am definitely feeling it. All the nerves about tonight are long gone.
"Alice! Alice! You have to prove to these guys you can drink the drink! Take three shots of Everclear! You've done it before, and these guys don't believe me!" Tess is shouting with three guys standing behind here look amused. Weird I don't know them. Whatever. They are hot. Who cares who they are.
"I got this, Tess, no problem." And just like that i take three shots of Everclear back to back. No chase needed. The three guys don't look too impressed so I ask for three more and take those no problem. That's 6 shots of Everclear. They look way more impressed now.
"See boys, she wasn't lying. But you guys wait here I'll be back. I'm going out for a smoke."
I hear the guys say they are coming with me and Tess saying something about me and not even being a smoker. I walk out the back door and down to the bank of the lake to sit on the bench away from the party, they three guys still following me. When I sit down i turn to them.
"Would any of you happen to have a smoke? And a um..... What’s it called?"
"Lighter? Of course, darling. Here." One of them hand me a smoke and a lighter. I take the smoke but hand the lighter back.
"Can you light it for me?" I put the smoke in my mouth, apparently backwards because he flips it around then lights it. I take a deep inhale and cough. My lungs are burning.
"I don't think I smoke. Take it," I cough out.
The three guys laugh, one sitting on either side of me and one standing in front facing me. The two beside me grab my arms firmly.
"Stop it!" I laugh. "Guys, I may be drunk but I ain't having sex with any of you." I keep laughing.
The man in front opens his mouth to speak when he is cut off. The guys beside me let go. "Alice! I mixed you another drink! Tess told me you were out here without a drink." Tate runs up handing me another drink in a red cup.
"Thanks Tate," I manage to slur out. He looks at the three guys and walks away looking jelous.
As soon as he reached the door the two guys beside me grab my arms again. And the one infront begins to talk in a harsh but quiet tone, "Alice, don't make a sound. If you don't cooperate nicely, we will kill Tess. You are going to tell Tate that your friend is on his way to pick you up. Tell him you don't feel well and would like to go home. We will go in with you acting like we are helping you to your friends car. You will quietly get into the vehicle we have waiting for us at the front of the house."
I burst out laughing, "You guys are so funny! You're killing me!"
They all pull out a gun and just like that my gut drops and i feel like puking. "We aren't playing around darling. Are you going to do as we say?" I nod my head unable to speak. They put away the guns, "good girl. Let's go."
The two men beside me lift me up putting their arms around my waist and mine over their shoulders. My knees feel like they are going to give out. We walk to the house slowly, meeting Tate in the hall.
"Hey Tate..... I called someone to come pick me up. I'm not feeling well. I'm gunna head home. These guys are helping me to the car. Sorry I have to leave." We walk away before he can say anything. I look back but the third man block my view motioning discreetly for me to keep walking. We walk straight down the hallway, out the front door and down the steps. Without a doubt there is a black car with silver lining waiting there for us. I struggle a little. But I'm too drunk and they are too strong.
"Alice. Darling. You don't want to be doing that." I stop and get in the back seat between the two men holding my arms while the third gets in the front passenger seat. As the driver pulls out of the drive way I turn and look at Tate standing by the front door.
"Face forward!" The man on my right snapped.
"If it's money you want, I don't have any."
"Alice Green, it's not money we want," the third man turns to look at me with a grin on his face. I start kicking and thrashing around hitting the two men beside me. BANG. My vision goes white for a second and my head feels like it just exploded. A warm liquid drips down the side of me face. I see a gun handle and an arm connecting to it. I just got hit over the head with a gun. That's the last thing I saw before going unconscious.
