After finishing eating I just sat at the table starring at my hands. Why is this all happening to me? Why can't I just have a normal family or just go back to my lonely little apartment? But no. I am going to become a moster. A vampire. I can see how I could pass out after hearing that. But I don't remember feeling that stressed or paniced. Maybe I should see Marcus.

Just then the door opens and I walks Marucs.

"Hello Ady. How are you feeling today?"

"I feel fine but I uh sort of passed out."

"Ah, yes your Mother did tell me that. I assume it is because of all the stress and to top it off you skipped breakfast. But I see you have eaten now. Do you feel better."

"Yes. I think I am fine now."

"Good, good. Your Mother would like me to go over the process of the change with you. So how about we head up to the Library?" He motioned for me to follow him as he headed to the door. We walked through the halls in silence. I don't know what to say. I really don't want to here anymore about the change but I know I can't run from it. It is going to happen weather I want it to or not. I May as well be prepared. I am brought out of my thoughts when Marcus stops at a door and I nearly walk into his back.

"After you Ady." He opens the door to the library. I walk in and instantly am in awe. This isn't just a little home library or study. The library is huge. By huge I mean the size of a larger public library. The smell of old books fill the air. But I quickly understand why. There are only old books in here. Two floors filled with just old books. He steps into the library behind me and leads the way to a small table with to large leather chairs. I am not sure if I shoud sit or wait for him to sit so I just stand there looking at the chair. He obviously noticed my confusion.

"Ady, as a direct daughter of the king and Queen you are higher than me. You sit first, then I must bow my head and sit. The only ones higher than you are your parents and your brother. But all that doesn't matter right now. Your brother will be in charge of teaching you all the proper royal manners. Please, sit," he motions to the chair.

I pull out the chair and sit. He instanly bows his head slightly as if to nod a single time then sits. He doesn't waist time and jumps right into the topic of the change.

"I don't know how much your mother told you so I am going to start from the beginning. I'm sure you already know what you are about to become. A vampire. As you near your 18th birthday you start to go through some gradual changes. Some people start to notice about two weeks before their birthday others only a few days before. The earlier you start to change the stranger you will be when it completes. For most the change only lasts about a week. The longest recorded change was three weeks. Are you understanding?"

"I think so. Longer the change, stronger the vampire. But how do you know when the change starts?"

"It is different for each person. Most people notice they have more energy and start to sleep and eat less. A vampire can eat and sleep but they don't require it. A lot of us don't sleep or eat at all while others maintain a human like lifestyle with the addition of needing blood. We can not survive on human food alone. Some vampires have a more obvious start. They will start getting their special abilities first." I start to think about if I have noticed any of these. I almost stop breathing when I realize everything he has said so far applies to me. I stopped eating as much almost three and I half weeks ago but somehow always had energy to spare. I also feel like I've gotten stronger and my senses started getting stronger. Wait. three and a half weeks ago. That is four and a half weeks before my birthday. 'Longer the change, stronger the vampire.' My own words echoed back to me. Not to mention the crazy vision thing I had this morning before breakfast. No. No. NO! My thoughts were swepts away by the sound of Marcus snapping his fingers in my face. "Ady! Are you listening? Did you hear my question?"
