As soon as I take my first step inside, I know I’m alone once again. Well, except for Harry who’s somewhere around here. I don’t hear dad’s loud singing nor dad’s calling on the phone and enjoy the silence. I drop my bag to the floor and kick of my wet boots. I shrug of my coat and try to untangle my scarf from around my neck. I walk straight to the kitchen to get myself, and Harry, some tea. Would Harry know this blond guy? I mean, if Zayn does, maybe Harry does too. But I don’t think it’s a good idea if I tell Harry about this guy, because he’s connected to Zayn, and Harry doesn’t want me to be connected to Zayn. God, that sounds so pathetic, he can’t tell me who to be around with and who not. Zayn’s my friend, and I can see him if I want to, whether Harry likes it or not. I let the water boil and grab two mugs from the cabinet.
‘’Hey.’’ I jump a mile in the air as I suddenly hear Harry’s voice.
‘’Jesus Christ.’’ I breathe out. I didn’t hear him come downstairs.
‘’Bad conscious?’’ He smirks and sits down at the breakfast bar.
‘’Funny.’’ I mock him and grab two teabags and put them in the mugs. ‘’How was the movie?’’ You don’t want to know. ‘’Oh, it was okay.’’ I shrug and look in the fridge to see if there’s anything to eat.
‘’Have you eaten yet?’’ I ask him as I grab some leftovers. ‘’No.’’ He answers, shaking his head. I nod and start warming up the food. I already ate with Emma at a small restaurant, but it just wasn’t enough for me. I don’t know how I’m able to eat so much and not explode. I give him one of the filled mugs and sit down in front of him.
‘’Did anything happen here?’’ I ask Harry as he takes a sip of his tea.
‘’Yeah, well, I think I heard… your parents… you know…’’ Oh my God. ‘’I’m so sorry you had to hear that.’’ I groan as I cover my face with my hands. He chuckles and takes another sip. ‘’It’s not like they knew there was someone inside the house.’’ I chuckle along with him and take a sip from my tea too, burning my tong and lips and immediately spitting it out again. Harry laughs and walks to the food to see if it’s ready.
‘’I might go to Zayn tomorrow.’’ I exclaim and turn around to face… his back. He stops stirring in the pans and I can see his shoulders tense.
‘’Victoria, I told you-‘’
‘’I don’t care what you told me Harry, you should listen to what I tell you for once. Zayn is my friend, he needs me, he has no one left. Apparently not even you.’’ I know I shouldn’t have said the last part, but if Zayn and Harry really are friends, why don’t they talk to each other? If they’re involved in the same crime, and are a part of the same gang, why don’t they try to contact each other?
‘’Listen to me Victoria, there’s a group of men, who have connections all over the country, looking for us.’’
He turns around and walks closer to me, my knees now touching his hips.
‘’These men, they don’t have any mercy.’’
He continues, breathing a lot heavier than before.
‘’They don’t feel bad raping women, beating them, killing them in front of the people they love, the people who love them.’’
His hands are on both of my thighs, squeezing them a bit too tight for my liking.
‘’These men, they’ve killed over a three hundred people in the last two years.’’
I swallow hard, my eyes widening and my brows raising up.
