Oh, Ms Paulson?

Meeting the parents

                  

- Time skip to after the meal -

So we're finally back at the apartment. We talked about all sorts at the meal. Mainly about mine and Sophie's jobs. We caught up with gossip from back home and enjoyed our food. It was so good.

"And we're back!" Soph said to me and my parents as we got out of the car. We walked them into our apartment and we all sat down in the front room. "Since we're all British here... Tea anyone?"

"Yes please" my parents said. "Girls, your apartment is so lovely. We're so glad that you're both happy here. Your parents miss you so much Sophie. They're visiting soon aren't they?", my mum said.

"Yeah in a months' time!" Soph responded. My phone vibrated. I looked down and it was Sarah saying she was outside!

"I am so happy here. Like, a new level of happy. My job is so fun and living with my best friend is the best thing ever. While you guys are here, I wanted you to meet someone. In fact, this person is coming over now, is that okay?"

My parents looked a little confused. And this made my stomach turn. I was so nervous.

"Er, yes, honey of course. We'd love to meet them."

I text Sarah to let herself in. The longer we waited for her the more nervous I got. Finally, the door handle started to jiggle and I knew she was coming through. Sophie virtually ran to the door. "Heyyyyy! How you doing?" she said to Sarah and gave her a hug. They had a little chat and then Sarah came through to the front room.

"Mum, Dad. This is Sarah." My dad looked like he had just seen an alien. "I know you, you're the actress in Game Change right?" Sarah looked at me then looked at my dad. "Yes I was! Pleasure to meet you both". She shook their hands. My mum looked stunned too. "It's a pleasure to meet you too, Sarah. So how do you two know each other, (Y/N)? Work?"

"No not exactly." I felt like I was about to throw up. Sarah sat next to me. Quite close. I looked at her. "Actually, we met at Sophie's work on the first night that I got here. And I'm so glad that we did. Because she makes me so happy and I couldn't ask for anyone better." I took her hand and looked over at my parents. "Guys, Sarah is my girlfriend. For real. I sometimes forget how lucky I am and still think I'm actually dreaming. Because there's no one quite like her. And then I realise. I'm not dreaming. She's all mine and I just hope you guys are willing to get to know and love her like I do. She's an incredible person, am I right Soph?" Soph has teary eyes and nods. "Guys, she's so right. Sarah's amazing. I adore her and she is the right person for (Y/N)." My parents are crying. Sarah and Soph are now crying. And now I'm crying! What's next?

Now I've got all my errands and my work sorted, I am wanting to update more often. Either every Friday or every other Friday. I will keep you updated! In other news, has anyone seen the Miss Stevens trailer!!!! Yassss!!! Lily looks amazing, I can't wait to see it! And the Emmys are around the corner. Sarah best get at least one of the 2 she's nominated for. She deserves them both! :)
