I thought this was going to be the year I asked her out, but I couldn't bring myself to it. Once again.
I have a chance. I know I do. And she's perfect. So what in the hell am I afraid of?
Whatever it is, I need to figure it out fast because if I don't man up fast, Carson is going to end up giving up. And if I let her give up, that would just be foolish of me.
Just as I was lost in my thoughts, I noticed Carson's friend Devan sitting in a corner booth in the breakfast shop I was in.
Great. Maybe I could talk to him about her.
"Hey man." I said, shaking his hand.
"Uh, hey." Devan asked, giving me a confused look.
"So, we both know Carson, and I was wondering if I could ask you something?"
"Yeah, sure. I guess. What is it?"
"Do you know how I could ask her out, or talk to her or anything?" I bluntly questioned him.
"Carson?" He raised his eyebrows and laughed. "She's tough. You sure you want to do that?"
"Yes. Maybe. I don't really know. I've thought I was ready for years now, but I'm really not sure I can do it."
"I don't know, there's this party me, Emily and Chloe are throwing her at my place for her 18th this Saturday, you should come and talk to her."
