The Polite Leader *Love Story*

Part 1

The year is 2020. The day of the annual purge, it has almost been 2 years since Rachael moved in with the Sandins. It had also been almost a year since she last talked to Rhys.

Rachael, Zoe and Charlie were getting ready for school, everyone came down for breakfast as they were all eating it was quiet. Everyone was thinking about the purge and wondering were they safe this year. As everyone was about to finish; James, their father, got up and said " Alright everyone have a good day at school and remember to be home by 3:45" after he said that he put his plate in the sink and kissed his wife, and kids goodbye. Rachael, Zoe and Charlie got up and put their plates in the sink as well. They all said goodbye to Mary, their mother, before Rachael was about to head out Mary had called her back in. Mary said "Once you get out of school can you go to the supermarket to pick up a couple of things for dinner, here is a list of everything I will need." Rachael said "Of course Mary, I'll drop Zoe and Charlie off before I go to the store." Rachael said her goodbye and dropped off Zoe and Charlie before she went to her college. They teachers were fidgety throughout the whole day and their lessons were a lot shorter so they wouldn't have to keep people longer than they needed. It was time for lunch so Rachael drove to Panera to eat. As she was waiting on line, there are three people in front of her and no one behind her. As she moved up in line a small group of maybe 5 to 8 people got on line behind her. One of the guys accidentally elbowed her in her back, Rachael let out a little yelp. The person who elbowed her turned around and apologized, Rachael turned around and saw it was Rhys. Rachael said "It's okay it was an accident." As she smiled at him. He smiled his big and bright smile at her. The lady at the register said "Next." Rachael turned around and walked to the register and order and grilled chicken wrap with an ice tea. She took her receipt and walked to the side to wait for her food to be made. Once her number was called she took her food and decided to sit in a small booth in the corner. As she ate she was reading a romance book about an intelligent personal assistant and her boss falling in love together. Rhys sat in front of her and said "That's quite an interesting book to be reading in a food place." Rachael looked up from her book and said "I like reading plus this is really the only time I get to read without a teacher getting mad that I'm reading in their class, plus this book isn't as bad as reading 50 shades of grey in public." She smiled. Rhys smiled back and said "I have seen you on campus, you usually sit by yourself and I don't think I have seen you with any friends, why is that?" Rachael's smiled disappeared as she looked him in his eyes and said "I don't have any friends anymore, after my parents died I just stopped talking to people and kept to myself." As Rhys was about to say something Rachael looked at the time and said "I have to get going I have a class in 15 minutes, thank you for the talk." As she got up and left. Rhys thought to himself 'she is very interesting, I can tell she has never purged, maybe I can persuade her to join me'. As he smiled to himself. Rachael's classes went by and when she didn't even know it her classes had ended and she had to pick up Zoe and Charlie. Rachael had picked up Zoe and Charlie and dropped them off at home and had gotten the grocery list from the counter. Rachael went to the grocery store which was pretty empty, there were a couple people shopping for food. Rachael got what she needed and went home. Rachael didn't get home till 4:30, as she had drove home she saw a bunch of people in mask walking around. She was now home and helping Mary cook dinner. James came home and came into the kitchen and kissed Mary and greeted Rachael. He said "I have some great news to share with everyone during dinner." They both finished dinner it was now 5:30 and everyone was sitting down eating.
