The Polite Leader *Love Story*

Part 2

Everyone was sitting down for dinner, it is now 5:30pm. James was very excited to tell everyone his big news but before he said anything he wanted to hear about everyone's day. James said "Who would like to tell me about their day first?". Mary decided to go first she said "Well my day was pretty normal compared to every other day, I was able to finish my garden and I was also able to start dinner early." James said "Honey that's great, I can't wait to see your garden tomorrow. So Charlie how was your day?". "Let's see we had a test and learned about the history of today. *beep, beep, beep* I almost forgot to check my blood sugar. (Takes out notebook, pen and begins to write.) By the way there is a slight deviation in my heart rate but otherwise everything is okay." "Well that's good, so Zoe how was your day?" Zoe says "I don't want to do this anymore." James gives her a stern look with a smile. "Fine, I had a calculus test and we read parts of Macbeth." Zoe said. "Thank you for sharing Zoe, so Rachael how was your day?" Rachael says "My day went by pretty quickly, most of my professors were pretty nervous and kept repeating the same thing in their lessons. Also if any students were to interrupt the class the professors wouldn't say anything they just let it happen. They must have been really nervous about tonight. Oh, I almost forgot but when I was getting groceries there were already people dressed up and ready to go." Zoe interrupts and says "I bet the people those who were already ready to go were the ones with big enough balls to be outside by now." James and Mary yelled Zoe's name as she and Charlie high five above the table and laugh. "Don't encourage her Charlie!" Rachael interrupted and said "Look what time it is." Everyone turned around and look at the clock that said 6:35pm. "Wow I didn't realize it was this late, I'll get and check the system you guys can finish eating." James said. Everyone continued to eat till it was 6:50, Mary and Rachael washed the dishes as Charlie and Zoe went to the surveillance room to watch the annual Purge announcement. It was now 6:55 everyone was in the surveillance room. "Are we ready?" James said as he looked at everyone, especially Charlie. Rachael was hugging Charlie as he nodded his head that he was ready. James put in the code and the barriers came down. It was now 7:00pm and the annual Purge announcement came on. "This is not a test. This is your emergency broadcast system announcing the commencement of the Annual Purge sanctioned by the U.S. Government. Weapons of class 4 and lower have been authorized for use during the Purge. All other weapons are restricted. Government officials of ranking 10 have been granted immunity from the Purge and shall not be harmed. Commencing at the siren, any and all crime, including murder, will be legal for 12 continuous hours. Police, fire, and emergency medical services will be unavailable until tomorrow morning until 7 a.m., when The Purge concludes. Blessed be our New Founding Fathers and America, a nation reborn. May God be with you all." After about 5 minutes Zoe asked to go to her room. "Yes you may go, thank you for joining us." James said. 10 minutes after she left Rachael and Charlie decided to also head to their rooms, Charlie said "I don't want to watch anymore." Rachael said she was going  to start on some homework that is due the next week.
