Dear future generation,
I'm writing this letter to you now, which from your perspective will be one hundred years ago.I don't know what your history books (or do you even still have books?) tell you about this year but I can tell you that until now (15th June) it has been horrible. Not for me personally, but for humanity. There have already been terrorist attacks in Paris last year and in Brussels this year. The latest terrorist attack was in Orlando a few days ago. 49 people died. 49 innocent people killed by one person. Officially behind all these deadly attacks is one organisation, the Islamic State (I'm sure you've read about them in your history book or whatever). They bring grief and fear to the whole world and create a fear of Muslims in the heads of many people. Fear of Muslims, who, for the most part, are very kind and peaceful people. I really hope ISIS is a name of the past at the time when you read this.
Furthermore, there is a tendency to right wing extremism in many countries of the world, expecially countries within Europe. People are discriminated against because of their skin colour, religion and/or sexual orientation. Quite primitive, isn't it?
There are so so many problems for my generation to solve and I hope we can make it.I hope you won't have the same problems to fight against.I personally try to do my best!
Greetings from the past (2016),
a (not really) average nearly 18-year-old German girl
