Lucy's POV
I got out my car and took my suitcase out the boot as I slung my shoulder bag on. It was a cold Novembers evening and it was already getting dark as the lights buzzed in front of me. I let out a breath and saw it condense as it came out. I walked into a random terminal hoping there would be an EasyJet desk seeing as I couldn't afford a luxury airline at the moment. My eyes quickly scanned the room and to my luck I saw the orange banner.
I jogged over, pulling my suitcase behind me and stood behind the desk, thank god there wasn't a queue.
"Hello, how can I help you?" The woman behind the desk asked.
"Hello, I was wondering if there were any available flights to Paris tonight?"
"Okay, one moment." She replied. Her eyes searched her computer before popping her head up again. "Yes, there is one but it doesn't leave for another 4 hours. Is that okay?"
My eyes lit up. "Yes thanks, that would be great."
"Okay, have you got your passport and a method of payment?" The woman said.
"Yep, gimme a sec." I quickly rummaged around in my bag and took out my passport and purse before paying.

I woke up to a soft nudge on my shoulder. I opened my eyes and it took me a few moments to realise where I was. In a panic I quickly checked my watch and saw I still had an hour to kill.
"Excuse me young lady. Sorry to wake you but your phone was ringing." An elderly lady beside me said. "I didn't want to wake you up but after 3 calls I thought it must've been important."
"Thank you miss." I smiled. I reached into my pocket and took out my phone. My mood changed and I began to panic. They were from Drake and he had left voicemails. I decided against listening to them or I would have I face memories or this afternoon again. My thoughts were interrupted by my stomach making the loudest grumbling noises ever. Great, how could I have forgotten to eat? Well I guess I still have time I kill and I'd have to eat at some point.
I slowly got up and made my way to Starbucks buying a mozzarella panini and my favourite, a mocha with whipped cream. I bit into the panini and memories flooded my mind.
Flashback:
"Lucy Baudin, will you be my girlfriend? He asked, his lips curving into that beautiful smile of his, those blue eyes bore into my one causing me to tingle and his hair softly blew in the summer breeze. He purposefully added exaggeration to the French pronunciation in my name, he knew I loved it when he did that.
"Drake Parker! Of course I will!" We laughed as he picked me up and twirled me in his arms. He was perfect, my kind of guy and beau- my thoughts were interrupted by his sarcastic comment.
"You know Lucy, any girl in the school would die to be in your shoes right now." He giggled. Great way to ruin the moment Parker.
I playfully slapped his shoulder, "whatever, you're lucky I said yes." He rolled his eyes and took my hand.
"Where are we going?" I asked
"For lunch silly, it's already 2.30 and we haven't eaten breakfast."
"Yaay, food." I thought to myself.

We entered starbucks and Drake told me to sit down while he got the food. He came back and placed the food infront of me.
"Two mozzarella paninis and two mochas." He announced to me, his eyes beaming as he sat down.
"Thanks, Drake. How did you know that was my favourite?" I grinned.
"It's called observing babe." He shot back at me, even the way he said babe made my blood rush. Oh Drake.
End of flashback.
I had instantly lost my appetite, I couldn't eat this anymore, not now. What shall I do now, I still had half an hour left until my gate was due to open. I decided to walk over to the duty free shops. I picked up a Lancome perfume and sprayed it on my neck. The sweet smell clung to my nose and held there tight. I was just about to pick up a 50ml box when my phone began to ring. I took it out my bag and held it to my face. No caller ID. Should I answer? What if it was Drake? All these questions sprung to my head but I pushed them away and decided to answer it.
"Hello." I whispered.
"Hello, is this Lucy?" A man answered on the other side.
"Umm, who is this?"
"I'm Garret Baudin, this is Lucy Baudin. Isn't it." Shivers ran down my body. Garret Baudin?
"Dad?" My voice was dry and raspy. Tears sprung to my eyes. Was it really dad?
"Lucy? It is you? My God, I've found you at last!" His voice was happy and excited. How did I know it was him? I didn't have any memory left of him. For years I tried so hard to just remeber his voice or his face, his eyes, anything. But I could never remeber them, all I had left was a small photo which I always kept in my purse, whenever I felt sad or hurt all I had to do was talk to him. Dad always knew the answer to everything.
"Is it really you?" I slowly regained my voice back and fought the tears brimming in my eyes.
"Yes buttercup, it's me." His voice was full of pride when he said my nickname. This time I couldn't stop the tears pouring from my eyes.
"Daddy. I missed you so much." I chocked out.
"I know buttercup, I missed you too. I have been trying to find you all this time but I couldn't. Only now have I found you, after 10 years." He breathed out, his voice shakey. "I need to meet you, where do you live now?" He asked.
"I'm actually going away for a while dad." I still couldn't believe that I was talking to him. After 10 years I had lost all hope of finding him.
"Where are you off to Lucy? Somewhere with your boyfriend?" He giggled, from what my mum said, dad was always a joker. I now saw what she meant. I chuckled to myself.
"No! I'm just going to Paris for a while, just to get away for a bit."
"Okay buttercup you go ahead, I'll call you later okay?" He replied.
"Sure dad, bye." It still felt weird having a conversation with him. It was like I was talking to a stranger, some ghost.
I don't know if I was happy or if I was sad. I shuddered at the thought, it was like he came back from the dead after all these years. I realsied the perfume was still infront of me. I picked it up and took it over to the check out. As the lady scanned the box and I payed I thought of so many different scenarios but I tried to shudder them off.
I made my way outside the shop to notice the time. Just as I was about to look at the departures board a voice rung all the way through the waiting area.
Flight EZ0891 to Paris, please make your way to gate 15. The plane is due to depart in 35 minutes.
I cocked my head up to look for directions to gate 15. I made my way through numerous corridors to gate 15. I handed my passport and boarding pass before walking up the ramp and into the plane. As I sat in my seat looking blankly infront of me, thoughts filled my mind.
Did mum know?
How long had he actually been missing in action?
Was this man actually my father?
What did he look like now?
And I suppose all these questions will be answered soon. I closed my eyes, realising how tired I actually was and I fell asleep before I knew it.

Okay so a bit of a boring chapter but I had to fill in some details before the next chapter or things wouldn't really make sense. This was pretty much a filler chapter.
Love you!
