Lucy's POV
"Dad?" My whole body froze as I stared into the green eyes of the man in front of me.
"Oh my Lucy" He said, his mouth curved up into a smille creating crinkles around his eyes. "My little buttercup, I've missed you so much"
Listening to him say my nickname once again brang tears to my eyes. He immediately pulled me into a tight embrace whilst calming me down. "Sssh buttercup, I'm here now, It's me, your dad, your père". I looked up at him and all the memories came rushing back to me, it was him. Right here, right now, my father was in front of me.
"Daddy, I've missed you so much. I, I can't belive this moment is finally here" I chocked out in between my tears. "W-what happened to you? Me and mum missed you so much"
He shook his head firmly, "all that is the past now, we will not talk about that. All that matters now is that you are with me and we have found each other okay?" I nodded my head in understanding as he supported me to our table again. I sat down as dad sat down opposite me.
Dad smiled at me again as he lifted his cup of coffee and took a sip, his once black hair now with strands of grey and silver in it. "So Luciana, how have you been these past ten years?" He asked me.
I pulled a face, "Well dad, it's a little difficult to sum up my life but I'm doing pretty well you know. I moved out from mum's place to live with my....friend" Worry flooded me again as I thought of Drake but I pushed it away to talk to my dad. "And I'm on a gap year now so I'll hopefully be going to uni next year" I proudly announced.
"Wow look at you, we can obviously tell where you get your smartness from" He smiled cockily. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

The rest of the lunch went well with dad. We reminisced and chatted, it seemed like all my worries vanished while I was talking to him. Right before we parted he told me to move back in with him instead of staying at the hostel. I hastily agreed but there was still a small amount of awkwardness due to our 10 year distance from each other.
As I said goodbye to my dad I took a stroll back to the hostel when my phone buzzed. I reached into my picked to notice Drake's caller ID. I ignored the call and placed it back into my pocket when I remembered the note I left for him. My breathing quickened and I sat on the cold ground.
What if he found the note?
What if he comes looking for me?
I took heavy breaths as on lookers gave my funny stares. This whole getaway was to have fun and forget everything. And that is exactly what I was going to do.

I hauled my bags into the elevator of the apartments that my father had told me about. I pressed the gold 'floor 12' button and felt the elevator rise. I heard a familiar ding and the doors opened. My eyes scanned the doors until it landed on number 129. I knocked on the door and was greeted by my happy looking dad who took my bags and signalled for me to enter.
"What do you think of this place Lucy?"
I looked around, my jaw probably on the floor by now. The apartment was amazing. There was a small living room furnished with red sofas and a red coffee table. The television sat on a small stand surrounded by magazines and a tall bookshelf. Attached the to living room was an open kitchen, also with the theme of red. But what caught my eye the most was the massive window at the end, it had a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and had a small balcony which overlooked Paris' busy streets. My gaze flickered to the left of the television where I saw a large canvas photo of my mother, father and I.
