The Following Morning

Jack let out a long sigh as he sat himself up. He looked at his phone to see it was 9 am. Jack looked around to see that Mark, Wade, Felix and Daithi were asleep. Jack got up stretching slightly before making his way to the door. Jack took one last look at the room full of sleeping people as his stomach growled. Jack opened the door deciding that breakfast sounded like a good idea.

Jack made his way downstairs still trying to rub the sleep from his eyes. He let out a soft yawn and stretched a little. Jack made his way into the kitchen grabbing the biggest mug he could see and switching on the kettle, he prepared himself a cup of coffee as he waited for the water to boil. Jack opened his cupboard and grabbed a box of Frosties and a bowl. He placed both on the counter as the kettle finished boiling. Jack shook his head a little.

He hadn't slept well. But that was because he was so worried about those rouge wolves and what his mother had said. How was he capable of becoming the next alpha? Jack hated his wolf side and his mother knew that. Although Jack was willing to use his wolf when he was required to do so he hated it. Jack was broken from his thoughts as he felt a hand on his back, he turned around to see Daithi. Jack forced himself to smile "Mornin' Daithi." Daithi looked at Jack with a raised eyebrow as his eyes scanned over him "Mornin'." He replied although his voice trailed off. Jack turned back to his coffee and the box of cereals as he began to pour some out for himself. Without turning to look at Daithi he said "Do you want anything? I can make coffee? I have bread if you want some toast or there's cereals. Knock yourself out." Jack put the box of Frosties back in the cupboard as he picked up his bowl and mug setting them on the dining table. Jack then made his way over to the fridge, Daithi was quiet, he hadn't said anything other than morning. Was something wrong? Jack grabbed a carton of milk from his fridge before turning to look at Daithi. As Jack did, he noticed Daithi staring at the side of his neck. Jack knew exactly what he was staring at and moved his hand to cover the bite mark from last night. Daithi walked over to Jack and tried to move his hand saying in a calm tone "Let me see." Jack shook his head "It's nothing, just a mark that I've had for a while." Daithi pulled at Jack's hand trying to move it "Then you won't mind if I take a look will you?" his tone was a little stern. Jack pulled away keeping his hand pressed to the side of his neck "I'm self-conscience about it. I don't like people looking at it." In Jack's head that seemed like a believable excuse. But Daithi wasn't having it, he stood in front of Jack practically glaring down at him "Jack let me see! It's not like you to be so jumpy and I know that it's more than something you've had for a while because your tone quivers ever so slightly when you talk. You're lying Jack now let me see." Jack gulped a little, was he that bad of a liar? Jack let out a sigh, unable to think of any excuses as he removed his hand from his neck. Jack felt Daithi run his fingers over the two tiny holes causing Jack to shudder a little before pulling away "See? Nothing, as I told you. Just a simple Mark that I've had for a while." Jack put the cartoon of milk down on the dining table in the centre of his kitchen, besides his mug of coffee and bowl of cereals. Jack took a seat at the table and poured some milk over his cereals. Jack looked to the right of his bowl before letting out a sigh and standing up muttering to himself "I always forget the spoon." Jack collected a spoon from the draw as Daithi made himself a cup of coffee. Jack sat down as footsteps made their way down the stairs. Wade walked in and smiled sleepily "Morning you two." He said looking to Daithi then to Jack. Jack nodded as he finished eating the mouthful of Frosties before answering "Morning Wade, do you want anything to eat?" he shook his head "No, I'm not hungry." Daithi looks at Wade with suspicion in his eyes, Jack noticed but didn't understand what Daithi could be thinking. Wade took a seat opposite Jack as he took a sip of his coffee. Wade chuckled a little "Mark and Felix will come down in a moment." Jack laughed softly "Better give Mark and hour, he's never up on time." Wade and Jack laughed as Mark walked in and smirked "I heard that you little shit!" Jack smiled at Mark with an innocent look in his eyes before pulling a puppy-dog face "Does this face look like one that would make fun of you Markimoo?" Mark sat next to Jack and pulled him close. Jack in turn leaned against Mark smiling softly as Mark replied "Yes it does, that face is full of mischief. I suppose it's a good job I love you." Jack smiled and tried to hide the redness he could feel flowing to his cheeks. Felix pretended to gag "Guys we've only just woke up, give it an hour before you do the lovey dovey shit okay?" Mark and Jack laughed a little as they sat at the dining table.
