6PM

After realising that they had nothing in the house to eat Mark, Jack, Felix, Wade and Daithi headed out to the grocery shop close by. As they were walking back, talking and joking casually. Jack stopped and shushed everyone. He looked around his eyes scanning the area. Mark looked at Jack worried "Jack, What's wrong?" a soft growl rumbled from his throat "The rouges are close by." Daithi chuckled "They wouldn't be stupid enough to attack in day light." Mark chuckled with Daithi "Yeah, plus I took one of them out last night, the other was really injured. They wouldn't risk it." Jack let out a sigh shaking his head "You're probably right...I'm just being paranoid..."

Jack and his friends began to walk again.

They walked for a while and were almost home when Jack stopped again. Mark also did as he said "Jack is that..." Jack's eyes widened "My mum." Without another word or waiting for anyone to say something he dropped his bags and ran in the direction of his mother whimpers.

Jack changed to his wolf form running as fast as his paws would carry him, he saw Mark running by his side. He appreciated that Mark was trying to help him.

Jack skidded to a hault as he got to the woods not far from his house. Jack's mother was laid on the grass blood beginning to pool around her. Jack nuzzled his mother as she whimpered. Jack laid beside her but she used her nose to push Jack away. She looked at him weakly "Jack...You have to protect your friends...There aren't just two rouges, there's a whole pack...I was ambushed." Jack looked at his mother as she stood herself up. Jack noticed the leg she had hurt last night was gone. Jack's eyes widened as his mother looked away "Th-They tore it off...But I won't let the loss of a limp stop me. Go and I promise as soon as I'm safe I'll let you know. Protect your friends!" Jack nuzzled his mother "Mum I won't leave you not like this." She shook her head "You have to, your friends are human. It's our job to protect the humans." Mark tapped Jack's shoulder as he said "Love...As much as I don't want to alarm you...There's...Quiet a few wolves hear..." Jack turned around to see three wolves. He look to his mother as she shook her head "Go! Protect your friends. I'll be fine." Jack shook his head and before he could protest she took off running.

Jack growled slightly resorting to giving his mother a piece of his mind, once he was able to that was. Jack snarled at the wolves in front of himself and Mark noticing one of them flinch. Mark seemed to notice as his gaze moved to Jack. Jack nodded motioning to the two wolves either side of the one who flinched. Jack ran at the wolf on the left, Mark taking the wolf on the right, the one from the centre fled as Jack grabbed the left ones throat in his jaws and threw him to the side.

Mark grabbed the one on the right by the throat and threw it to the side. Jack and Mark exchanged quick glance as they both nodded and took off running trying to get back to their friends.

Jack changed back to his human form as they reached the edge of the woods were Felix, Wade and Daithi were waiting. Jack panted for breath, trying to regain his normal breathing pattern. Jack took a moment before he looked to his friends "We need to get back to the house...Now! There are three wolves, one fled but it might come back." Daithi smirked cockily "They won't stand a chance." Jack rolled his eyes and growled "As much as I want to let you try and get rid of the rouges, they're strong. They've already torn my mum's leg off, we need to get Wade and Felix to safety and think about a proper plan!" Daithi folded his arms as Mark let out a sigh "Daithi, we get you want to help but...Right now you can't. Like Jack said we think of a plan! It'll get less people killed." Daithi reluctantly agreed as the group headed back to Jack's house.

As they entered Jack closed the door and locked it. Jack looked to Mark and Daithi "Daithi I need you to lock the back door when I go out and I need you to lock all the windows as well. Mark, keep everyone else in here and I will sort this. None of you are getting hurt because of me and my family." Jack headed towards the back door. He was going to finish this once and for all. The rouges had gone to far and he was going to end it. They showed that they weren't going to stop on their own. So Jack would make them leave.
