Mark, Felix, Wade and Daithi were sat in the living room waiting for Jack to get home.
They had been waiting for almost an hour when finally they heard a knock on the door. Everyone's gaze fell to Mark and Daithi. Mark nodded "I'll get the door alright?" Daithi nodded "Yeah."
Mark left the living room walking down the hall and could already see Jack's mess of green hair from outside. Mark opened the door to be met by Jack looking at him his eyes red, puffy and tear stained. Mark let out a sigh as Jack collapsed into his arms and began to sob. Mark ran his fingers through Jack's hair and shushed him softly. Jack sobbed into Mark as he whispered "They killed her..." Mark let out a sigh as he kissed Jack's forehead softly "I'm so sorry Jack." Mark's gaze moved to the door to see Daithi looking at Mark and Jack. Jack pulled away from Mark and wiped his eyes. He took a moment to compose himself before he looked at Mark almost emotionless "There's no use in crying." Mark looked at Jack with sympathy in his eyes as he spoke in a calm tone "Jack. You have to morn. If you don't-" Jack cut Mark off snarling at him "You think I'll snap? I'm not like those bastards that killed my mother!" Mark stayed calm as he replied "I know that Jack but you are still only one man, you have to morn. A person can only take so much before they break. After what has happened today you accept how you feel." Jack glared at Mark his eyes beginning to turn golden "What happened? WHAT HAPPENED!? You want to know? My mother was murdered by rouge wolves. And do you know what, it's your fault!" Mark's eyes widened but he didn't get chance to say anything as Jack shoved him back "If you hadn't held me back when I tried to leave I could have gotten to her!" Mark opened his mouth to object when Daithi stepped in "Hey! You can't blame Mark for this, he didn't touch your mother." Jack turned to Daithi and growled "Oh yes why don't we all listen to the hunter who is probably glad to see one less wolf in the world!" Daithi clenched his fist but Mark stopped him saying simply "He's hurting Daithi, he doesn't mean it." Jack growled as he stormed his way upstairs. Daithi watched Jack and took a step forward when Mark grabbed his wrist and said in a low tone that was almost a growl "Don't you dare..." Daithi looked at Mark about to yell when Mark said "I did warn you. A wolf that's hurt like he is... They have very little control on their emotions, they're bad tempered and that were the horror stories of vicious and unprovoked wolf attacks come from. He needs time to morn."
Jack stormed upstairs and into his room slamming the door shut. As he did he collapsed to his knees crying. Why had he said any of that? Why had he been so rude to Mark and Daithi who were only trying to help him? Mark was right, Jack needed to morn. But he couldn't thought spun around his head making him feel both confused and angry. He wanted to morn his mother and take on the responsibility of pack leader as was expected of him but at the same time he wanted to hunt down the rouges that had killed his mother and make them pay. Jack sobbed uncontrollably a small whimper escaping his lips. Why had he left his mother to return to his friends? He should have followed her, then maybe she would still be here. But she wasn't and Jack couldn't help but blame himself.

1 Hour Later
Felix, Wade, Mark and Daithi had brought their sleeping bags downstairs so that Jack could be left to morn.
Mark was trying to sleep but he couldn't seem to settle. Mark stomach growled and lurched as he let out an agitated sigh. Of all nights, tonight was the night he felt he needed blood. Mark sat himself up to see that the others were asleep. Mark got out of his sleeping bag and went into the kitchen intending to get himself a glass of water.
Mark took a glass from the cupboard walking over to the sink and turned on the cold tap. Mark's gaze moved briefly to window in front of him but he swiftly looked down. Mark always tried to forget that he was a vampire, he pretended to be human. It worked most of the time. Till he saw his reflection. A vampire's reflection does not show what a human would see. It shows the vampire for what they really are. Mark let out a sigh as he looked back up the mirror, the whites of his eyes were black and his eyes glowed crimson red, his fangs poked out from beneath his lips. Mark filled the glass with water before turning off the tap. As he turned around Felix was stood in the door way. Felix cleared his throat as he spoke "M-mark..." Mark looked away "Sorry if woke you Felix." Felix shook his head "N-no you didn't wake me. I...I couldn't sleep. But in the window...Your eyes...Your fangs..." Mark nodded "Yeah...A vampire's reflection shows what we should look like. Obviously to fit it we sort of evolved to make ourselves look human but it's all just a disguise. Although I'd rather look the way I do now than the way I look in my reflection...It's not pretty to say the least." Felix laughs a little "I guess I have to agree, not trying to sound mean." Mark shrugged a little laughing "I don't blame you man...Are you okay?" Felix nodded "Yeah, I guess. But I actually came to ask you the same question. I mean...We all know you're a heavy sleeper. Yet you got up while everyone else was asleep." Mark's gaze moved to the floor, he didn't really want to admit to Felix that his hunger was the reason he was up. He didn't know how Felix would react. Mark stayed silent hoping that Felix would drop the subject but after a while he felt Felix's warm hand take hold of his wrist. Mark let out a sigh as he thought of a quick lie "I couldn't sleep worried about Jack...I mean...Wolves don't deal with emotional pain well everyone knows that and I know how painful it was too lose my dad, for Jack to lose his mom...I guess...I just want to make sure he's okay." Felix nodded a little "It can't have been easy for him..." Mark's gaze moved to the door to the kitchen. Felix following his gaze as he said "You're thinking of going to check on him aren't you?" Mark nodded a little. Felix smiled a little "I'm not going to stop you but...I think I should stay close by, like you said wolves can become violent when upset the way Jack must be." Mark nodded with a soft smile as he placed a hand on Felix's shoulder "Thanks Felix." Mark and Felix made their way upstairs and towards Jack's bedroom.
