Edgar's heart was filled with pride as the Chaser camp got closer and closer. The day when the tides would turn, the day luck would finally find him, the day he had been waiting for all of his life. As he got closer, he realized what the mysterious sound of hundreds of hooves had been. The Merhorses!!! He had heard the ancients tell stories of them since he was a lad, but he never believed they actually existed until that moment. The stout, wide horses created a wall of blue green and they passed, but their color wasn't the strangest thing about them. The Merhorses got their name from the pool of water that fit in their backs, perfect for a merman or woman to sit in without drying up. The beautiful creatures took a long ride to the sea everyday before returning to their usual home outside the camp. One of the head merwomen caught sight of Edgar and veered out of line, heading back in the opposite direction, presumably to tell the Chasers that they had company. When the procession was out of sight once more, Edgar took a strong, deep breath and trotted towards the pearly gates of the Chaser camp. Before he got there, though, an airhorse glided out the door. The close resemblance to a sea horse was very surprising, as Edgar had never seen anything like it on land before.
"Come in," it hissed, and turned to glide back inside the gleaming building.
