Chapter 5: Regrets

Hi there! Okay here we're going to have more of Mei's POV, I don't really know how Mei thinks since Saburo Uta-sensei won't let us know how Mei's mind works :/ .. so if ever in this chapter, made Mei think differently to the manga.. I'm sorry. I did my very best on how Mei thinks..

Yuzu's POV

I don't know how I passed out from yesterday.. All I remember was I felt sudden pain on my neck and felt very weak and I then was knocked out.

I woke up from a sudden "bang" outside followed by a sound of a glass, like that of a plate that fell from a table due to carelessness.

"Wh-wha?!" I looked beside me and saw Mei isn't there..

I looked at the time..

"2:23 am"

It's so early.. who could it be? Is mom home? What happened?

I walked to see what happened outside. I stopped on my tracks which made me stop just at the door. Not very far from the bedroom. I couldn't get nearer, I can't believe what I was seeing!

There were broken shards of glass everywhere! And some traces of blood.. That was not what I couldn't believe to see, but it was Mei who I couldn't believe to see!

She was sitting on the floor her right foot extended, while her other was half-extended. Her left hand holding her right hand. Her hand was full of blood but she was... licking it? Surprisingly, the bleeding stopped, her wounds from her hand reduced to a scratch to nothing! It disappeared!

She was licking her finger.. honestly, she looked.. hot. I blushed so hard, I could feel myself heat up. No, no I shouldn't be thinking these thoughts in this situation! While licking her finger her teeth looked a bit longer than usual long and sharp.. fangs..?

Without realizing, she was looking at me. Her eyes glowing passing through her spiky bangs, like an owl in the night with glowing eyes that you can see through the bushes. Her eyes were.. different. It was a brighter shade of violet. It looked stunning. I was attracted like that of a moth drawn to a light bulb.

I went closer to her.

Mei's POV

*Few minutes earlier*

I shouldn't have done that! I-I couldn't stop myself.. I shouldn't have taken my anger to her! What if.. what if she turns.. like me? No! No way! Good thing mom wasn't here.. and still didn't arrive.

Because of that girl.. I can't stop thinking of that "fan" of Yuzu. Having a dyed hair was enough but kissing Yuzu?! No way! My fangs came out and I banged the table without realizing there was a plate at the edge that fell and broke to little pieces, which made a very loud sound. Anyone could've woke at that sound. What if Yuzu saw me like this? No, I think she's still unconscious because of.. what I did.. I managed to heal her but I still regret it..

I picked up the broken shards of the plate that fell from the table. I felt so angry to myself. Thinking why did I do that. Why of all things did I bite her?! I clenched my fists which had a few shards in it that pierced my palm. It just pained me a bit, but I can't leave myself bleeding. I removed the shards and healed myself.. until I saw Yuzu.

Shit. My fangs are very obvious but I can't retract them! Shit. She's staring at me. She's going to know me, a vampire...

"M-mei, are you alright?" Is she blushing?

"...Yes. I'm fine. You can leave me now. I'll clean it up since you aren't f-fine."
I couldn't face her. I stood and picked up the shards.

"What do you mean? N-no! Your the one that is not.." She ran to me and took my right hand.

"...fine?" She looked at my other hand which was unharmed. Shit. She clearly saw the signs of me being a vampire.

"Wh-wha-? Where is it?? Wh-what?" She was still holding my hands flipping them.

"...What do you mean?"

"N-nothing.. I-I'll get the broom a-and the dust pan!" I sighed with relief. That was a very close one. But what if this happens again? Or a different situation happened but I get caught appearing like "this"? I think I should think about that later. For now, I have to clean up my mess. She arrived with the broom and dust pan.

"...Give it to me. I'll clean it up, you go sleep." I took the broom and dust pan.

"N-no, it's fine I will clean it." She was taking the broom but held my hand instead.

Her hand is.. warm. It was very comfortable. I brought her hand to my cheek..

"H-hey, M-mei? Wh-what are you doing?" She blushed more.

But I don't think this is going to last since.. I bit her.

"..No I made this mess so I will clean up. You go to sleep." I released her hand.

A/N: She sounded like a mom XD

"O-okay.. "

I quickly finished cleaning up and went to sleep since I was sleepy. Yes, a vampire also gets sleepy.. I went in. Looks like she's asleep. As usual the bed is warm because of her presence which helped me fall asleep quickly.

I woke up early enough for me to prepare going to school. I think I should wake her up too.

"..Yuzu, wake up." I said poking her face with my finger.

"H-huh? Wh-wha.." She sat up wiping her eyes, still half-asleep.

"What time is it?" She yawned stretching her arms.

"5:44 am. I will go now take a shower."

"..Okayyyy. I'll go.. cook our breakfast.." She said lazily.

We walked to school just as early as before. While we are walking to school, I focused in sensing other possible vampires in school. But there were very few students so I sensed no one. I guess I'll do it later or at lunch..

Lunch..

Bad luck! Well, I guess I have no choice but to work.. It's not that of a big deal.. I can find out tomorrow.

Chapter 23 is out.. but is a sad chapter.. 😢 Well, Saburo Uta-sensei has the right with her work soo let's trust her with this!

And who knows? Saburo Uta might make them kiss in the least expected part? I'll just wait patiently... for.. 2 whole months... I mean, we have to. 😢
